Description
Deligons are an intelligent, omnivorous species of warm blooded reptiles from a distant planet they have named Confictria. They have relatively the same level of intelligence as humans, and have a spoken and written language, a money system, advanced technology, and even space faring capabilities.

They range anywhere from 9 feet to 20 feet from rump to nose, their length mostly in their midsection. While on four legs, they're typically between 6 and 7 feet tall at the shoulder, though some have been known to be much larger or smaller. They typically travel as quadrupeds, though can walk upright on their hind legs. To help in this, many Deligons have heavy tails and flightless wings on their rumps to act as a counterbalance. Those without either or both of these typically have a lot of trouble standing up bipedally, if they can at all. Because of their clumsy, paw like front feet, Deligons have evolved a dexterous, prehensile tongue with a triple split tip. This tongue acts like an arm and hand, and is about as good as a human hand. Their sense of taste, however, is hindered by this.

One of the most interesting traits of Deligons is the vents typically found along their sides that secrete a thick fluid that, for simplicity's sake, is called jelly. This jelly is mostly used to assist in pest control, and as a sunscreen. It also serves as a natural perfume, having a strong, sugary or fruity aroma that varies slightly from one Deligon to another. It's also rather tasty, and some other sentient species, including humans, consider it to be a delicacy. Luckily for Deligons, the jelly is pretty easy to harvest without injury.
