Let’s be honest; not everyone likes Valentine’s Day. It’s divisive, setting apart the ‘Haves’ and the ‘Have Nots’ – and especially the ‘Have Not but would very much like to Haves.’ And, of course, Cupid’s darts do often go astray – and either miss or – worse – hit the wrong target altogether. And this is exactly what befell the young lady in this story; she found herself falling head over heels for a simply perfect, gorgeous man – only to find that he was totally wrapped-up in his boyfriend….. Angry and frustrated doesn’t even begin to sum up her feelings – and how bitterly she blamed the son of Mercury and Venus for her plight. And then, by one of those strange chances that sometimes come about (most often in Sparkie Shock stories) it so happened that the young love god fell into her vengeful hands – and soon found himself chained up helplessly in her basement, enduring her wrath and dreading what dire lengths her revenge might go to. ‘These mortals!’ he thought as she berated him: ‘you do your best to help them find love – and are they at all grateful? There’s no pleasing them – especially the females…..’ But, god though he might be, in this matter the minor deity was much mistaken. And, actually, the girl was astray in her thinking too. For one thing she certainly hadn’t expected Cupid to be quite such a handsome hunk……
