With great power comes great responsibility.
With talent comes attention, and with attention comes a chance to deliver a message.
News may catch the media and the news consumers for a while, but then they are replaced with the next news story. Some, like these photographs, change people and sit for a while longer, may become a part of our world view and basis for our values.
What you do here, is using your talent to shift focus away from your own art, and towards what, let's be honest, probably is a more important issue on the grander scale. And as long as you have this work up, after the photos have faded from the news, it will remind people or educate people on the ongoing situation in Syria specifically or how war generally is, and that it's humans, not countries, that carry the price.
I appreciate the reminder, and I appreciate your gallery. Although this may not be your best image, I do feel it's the most important I've seen today.
