Then you lack knowledge of the world around you, seeing as the vast majority of people that commit suicide suffer from one or more of an assortment of different mental illnesses - seeing as it's not evolutionarily correct to the survival instinct to want to destroy your own life, anyone that does feel this need clearly suffers from some form of mental illness.
As I'm sure you wouldn't laugh at someone that's dying from an illness, I'm unsure why you would laugh at this. Hopefully this is not still the case.

It's not always about being weak. In some cases, sure it is, but in other cases it can be a serious disorder: Bi-polar, manic depressive, etc.

As someone who once felt suicidal I agree with this. You just want your life as it is too stop and suicide seems the only definite way of doing that.
Thankfully I didn't take that step.
