Happy Pride Month!!

So Kevin here was inspired by the Pansy Division song "Kevin". A song about a guy who avoids talking about which way he swings and is an enigma to those around him. Listening to the song, I thought "What if Kevin is aro ace?" Because the song came out in the 90s, they didn't have a lot of awareness around asexuality and aromanticism.
For my Kevin character, he struggled with his lack of attraction for a very long time. For years, he felt broken and like something was wrong with him. And much like the Kevin in the song, is a subject of speculation to the people around him. When asked about his love life, Kevin changes the subject or says "I'm married to my music." or "Music is my true love."
Even after he found the asexual and aromantic labels, he still faced ignorance from those around him. People would tell him he just needs "a good lay" or that he "hasn't found the right person yet". Damned if he hides, damned if he's honest. So for the most part, he avoids talking about it.
It wasn't until he saw Sterling's ace-based band, Vanilla, that he started to be less in-the-closet. And while he still gets the people that don't take his identity seriously, he does have people that support him. Namely his music-making partner, Neil.
