Description
This I drew for a friend. It's one of my most detailed drawings yet and I'm kind of proud of it. I don't have much to say about it except that the only thing I used was pen and colored pencil. I'm not rich, so the fancy shmancey ink pens and stuff aren't available too me. . . just a ballpoint. Please tell me what you think. I love comments! ^^Related content

I love how not all the attention is drawn to the mermaid. Like, you look at it, and you say "oh, look, a treasure chest, a seahorse, a- omg its a mermaid!" Personally I like the chandelier the best.

I agree with Zuni-Chan, this is a beautiful peice and the lack of white space is awsome. The composition is well formed and fun, and draws the viewers eyes around the entire peice, allowing you to see all the small details in the picture! The coloring and shading is amazing and I especially like the contrast throughout the pic. The mermaid is gorgeous, looking almost realistic. The only problem I could say is the arms and hands, don't get me wrong there very well done, but the proportions are slightly off and so it takes a little bit away from the torso. I have the same trouble, I think that hands are purposely hard to draw, it's like their revenge for us using them so much when we create our art, like a workers strike, lol! The picture in its entirety is exceptional, I give it two thumbs up!!

It's absolutely beautiful! I love the shading in the entire piece, and the fact that you managed to fill up the entire paper without leaving a white background is just marvelous! *faves*
The hand is a little off, like the thumb... But that's okay, I'm not the greatest at hands either
