( Edit : just for those who dont understand this comic , its based of the (fake?)fact that allot of ppl and countries are confused as to why america declared pizza as a vegatable ( google it )and as what japan said about america protecting him is also true sinds end of WW2 japan isnt allowed to have a military so America kinda became its military ( if i recall correctly ) Edit end )
This was suposed to have been just an america and the italys comic but it somehow turned into this
I was sick yesterday and today so i stayed home..and today I got to make this long arse stupid fail comic

I.. had the same reaction as Romano...
But it tis difficult to try and lose weight when the schools want to shove greese balls in your face. Especially when your parents wont pay to give you cold lunch because you already get free lunch. But now that I'm in highschool we get the choice of choosing a salad. It's funny everyday I eat a salad for lunch, then claim to hate salads. I stab at tmy salads in an angery fashion :3 watching as my friends eat some pizza, and pie (sometimes) I die a little inside...

One thing, though, that I would like to point out is that "England" in french is "Angleterre", not "Englaterre", which you've written a few times in the comic. I'm definitely not saying this as a critique, since I really did enjoy your comic, but I just thought that it would be nice for you to know :3

while it's true that pizza is not a vegetable, though, it's not for the reason you'd think. the real reason is- there's no such thing as a vegetable. the term "vegetable" has no scientific meaning.

Technically, the tomato paste (albeit derived from tomatoes, which are botanically classified as fruits) are the 'vegetables', not the pizza itself. It would be like calling the Caesar salad I ate for lunch a 'meat' because there was grilled chicken in it.
What technically happened was Congress wanted to pass a bill to add whole grains, more fruits and vegetables, and more fat-free and low-fat milk to school lunches, and to reduce the saturated fat and trans fat foods in school lunches. It also was going to get rid of allowing 1/8 cup of tomato paste (like in pizzas) to count as a half-cup of vegetables (one serving). Then the dreaded c-words... CORPORATIONS... that make the pizzas for schools had a BAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWW fest, and of course the Republicans in the House of Representatives took pity on those poor CEOs and decided to nix the bill... I-I mean, they decided that they "can't tell people what to eat, obesity or not".

And some fans wonder why Himaruya portrays America as a silly illogical goof...(although it's not pizza that Congress is proposing to be considered a veggie in the school lunches; it's the 2+ tablespoons of tomato paste in the sauce that's served on a pizza slice [link] , so if you order an alfredo/BBQ/pesto or some other non-tomato sauce, it's not a veggie)

It's basically all about money. Those that make pizza for school lunches, salt sellers, and another group or two, wanted to keep pizza in school lunches, however, because they're trying to make lunch healthier, they ended up voting to make anything with 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce a vegetable (despite the fact that tomatoes are fruit). So, it all just comes down to money.
