Description
If I vanished
so that nobody could find,
or at least no one who cares,
would those who do miss me?
Would my absence be felt
or my disappearence noticed even?
Would attempts to search insue
even if my safety was assured?
Would they really want to know?
Have a genuine need for assurance,
or just be really curious
to figure out my secret?
If I up and left
would any try to follow?
Or swallow quickly the ideal
that Im no longer there?
Accepting my escape
and wishing me well on my way?
Unfortunately I couldnt say,
if I faded from their lives
it could be as if nothing changed.
For as far as I can tell
even now their lives are the same
as the first day that they met me.
So the day after wouldnt differ
than the day before our meeting
and their world would keep spinning
as if our silent greeting
had never come about.
