Dusar, a Red Martian kingdom of Barsoom with a history of conflict with surrounding cities.I quite liked the costumes for Disney’s John Carter film, so I wanted to reference them for one of the Red Martian cities. I chose Dusar since I couldn’t think of much else to do with them visually.

I am happy you didnt totally dispose of the Disney film, I thought that while it wasnt a perfect film... it certainly had some ideas in it. Strangely I thought the titular character acted most like himself when he was NOT in a scene adapted from the book, being most john-carter-ish when it was an original scene.
