Martian Fauna:In 1908, H.G. Wells wrote an article for Cosmopolitan called The Things that Live on Mars - giving the up-to-date speculation on Martian wildlife and culture. I seem to recall mention of a "mars" story, that featured an inhabited asteroid between earht and mears... or something.. .that featured miniature elephants.
