Description The dagger jindal (Chinese and Korean words meaning “near legs” respectively) is a terrestrial predatory dog-sized pseudavian living in the temperate grasslands of Hojeg.
Despite its duopod-like appearance, it is actually closely related to ramphodonts. Unlike other pseudavians, the dagger jindal and its kin lack the ability of flight and are only dependent on running. This jindal’s tail is also shorter and less prehensile compared to ramphodonts.
As with most jindals, the dagger jindal has a highly social behavior similar to that of Earth’s wolves and other canids, living in groups comprised of 7 to 9 individuals on average (although occasionally, a group can reach a number of 15-19), including the dominant male and female and their offspring. In jindal society, the dominant pair lead the group and are the only members that breed.
Both a hunter and a scavenger, the jindal’s “beak”, its common name suggests, has two serrated tooth-like structures on each side which are used to tear through flesh, although not strong enough to break bone like the condylotheres.
