Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away

It's so unreal
Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on, but you didn't even know
Wasted it all just to watch you go
I kept everything inside
And even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me
Will eventually be a memory of a time when

Somehow my perception of time in the past few weeks has been warped. On the one hand I can't believe it has already been almost two months in lockdown and a large chunk of time seems to have just broken away, on the other hand hours and days stretch endlessly in this strange spring. I wait impatiently for time to pass and for the clocks that seemed to have stopped in March to start ticking again, yet simultaneously I don't want time to go faster, don't want to sit inside and watch while life passes and hours and days and weeks and months just seem to vanish. I know I am very lucky be able to do just that, to sit inside and keep myself safe, and yet it's a surreal situation. Now at least in Europe things seem to slowly improve and sometimes it feels like the past two months have been a bad dream.
