AI art, while I am not personally affected by it (as in AI didn't steal from me, I guess it is the main benefit of a poor artstyle lmao) I do not like it. At all.

Now why do I dislike AI art ? Well two reasons :

- It was trained on copyrighted material without consent from the OG artists. And right now there is no way for artists to take their work out of the AI's database. And even if there was what about those who cannot opt out because they died ? I do think that things would be much, much more ethical if all artists were opted out by default and only those who allowed their art used for AI training should be in. But that would require dropping some AI models. Not only that but these models are often payed models, so you are payinf for an AI model that stole from people across the internet.

- People who make AI art are greedy as heck. All of the AI "artists" I came across on this site had their commissions open, sold adoptables and other custom pieces for a big price when they didn't make anything, at all. This wouldn't happen if it was forbidden to use AI for commercial purposes. If you want to make money from art you should draw it yourself. And of course, they don't tag their stuff because they know people don't want AI art. Their intent is clearly to make money without doing anything.

Obviously if you choose to support these scammers, your money your problem. But if you want art that actually looks good while helping an artist out : consider commissions. You will get better results anyway.
