Tried to write haikuCouldn't think of anything
So yeah, no haiku
While brainstorming plot ideas, I started thinking about using medieval Japan as a setting-- thought it'd be fun to draw an alternate universe version of Scotty and mix the concept of an anthropomorphic fox with the kitsune of Japanese folklore.
Went for a slightly different look on this piece-- you'll notice he's not sporting his usual cocky grin

Gosh, Roonifer-- I'm honored that you think I'm worthy of teaching lineart, but... I don't really know how to go about teaching it. So I wrote some poetry for you instead

Me too, especially when it comes to Japanese culture-- I love the way they find beauty in simplicity, their traditional forms of art, the philosophy of Zen Buddhism-- but whenever I tell people I like Japanese culture, they always just assume I'm talking about anime -_-

I don't know if you remember any of the previous samurai foxes I tried to draw... the robes always sucked, lol. I'm glad I was able to come up with something at least half-decent this time

You have a very interesting style. I love the style of his coat, which in itself still looks as though it came out of feudal Japan! While adding modern pieces like the shirt and shorts. But I apologize if this sounds like nit-picking, his muzzle kind of looks feline in nature; despite the fact we're looking at a canine. Other than that, I love this depiction of a fox!

There's certainly a lot I still need to improve on as an artist, but I think for the muzzle, the feline characteristics are just kind of a personal preference-- I love using sharp corners, and the anatomically correct fox noses are too round for my taste

I've been experimenting with rougher, grittier looks, but I keep going back to that wide-eyed, cocky little expression

I guess its drawing habits; you learn to draw one way, but i fyou try something else, it takes time to get used to
