it's the second (and final) version of this one, and I feel kinda lame that I've not drawn anything in so long that this has followed directly after the pencil sketch version. I should scrap the pencil sketch to make myself look less lame, but I kinda can't decide which one I like better.Cobra Starship; they're a band, I don't own them, they kind of own themselves.

I remember when I was looking at this earlier I had something that I that was really awesome I was going to say and then for some reason I never commented and now I've forgotten what it was.
I'm cool.
I like how the black on top is all flat and opaque and you made the pencil red and you can see the hair-shading on some of them and not others and etc. Did you also do like a transparent red over in some parts, or that just the color-changed pencil? If none of that makes sense I'll try again to articulate my thoughts. I know so many technical terms I'm so professional and understandable. 8) I'm also a big fan of the speech bubbles and how the text fits into them all nicely.
And I really like the background color it's like lime green that someone left out in the sun too long.

I did this entirely in boring grey pencil, then in photoshop I made it red (with an overlay-layer of red (or a screened layer? i can't remember)) then multiplied it and so it's red-ness is entirely determined by the colour underneath. The darker the colour, the darker the red in the line-art is. (I'm pretty sure that's what you were asking, not sure I've explained it well though, ah what can you do?)

It seems like the facial features are out of line/position on the faces themselves. :3 But only a few, like the nose on the furthest top rightiest guy. And maybe the eyebrows on the middle guy below.
But it could just be me~ it's lovely anyway :3

yeah, I think you're right. (way too late to fix anything, but I'll keep an eye out for things like that next time!) -> I had a lot of trouble sort of getting them to look like the people they're supposed to, so yeah, there was a lot of reworking and erasing and I think I may have stopped paying so much attention to things being ... properly centred? (but it's awesome that you noticed, really, thank you, I'll do better next time <3)

I love your style. :3 Great faces every time. So you sketched this on paper, scanned it in, and then painted over it? :3 Sounds awesome. Sounds like it also makes life easier... I should give it a shot one day.

scanned it in, made a red layer and set it to overlay/screen/can't remember, merged it with the pencil layer (changed the colour) made that layer "multiply" and then painted UNDER it. (would be how I did it, in detail)
and haha, I kinda love their stupid faces (have a dorky film clip; [link] ) but hey I don't love you any less for not being a huge fan, you're still way awesome <3 and thank you for the comments (is about to reply to the one below TOO!)
