Surprise! Everyone else is drawing Halloween-related art but I decided to draw two best friends during summer. Which could be considered a surprise, or a scare in and of itself? Well, anyway.

It's Ahti II again!! This time, with his best friend Karleeen.. spelled with three e's, yes. Her mother was very particular about that. Karleeen first appeared here in a picture of various characters from my dreams - in short, she's a very happy and fun-loving person, jokes and wordplay are her favourite things in the world. She's a spiderperson (duh) which don't usually live as north as Finland, but as it turns out there was a hidden population living in North Ostrobothnia all along, away from normal society. Why? No one knows; spiderfolk are just as accepted and normal as merfolk are. Possibly some old persecution thing... Karleeeen used to live in hiding too, until she was discovered by some dumbass accidentally crashing near her home with a jet. She was rescued some time after and has been living with humans ever since with her adoptive father! It's a little strange for her, but she's doing well and is enjoying learning all these new things and meeting all these new people. One of them is Ahti II !

These two are the best of friends, mark my words. I mean, another non-human teenager around these parts of town, who's also really into being in nature and picking berries and rowing a boat and baking and eating blueberry pie and drawing and laying down on the grass at the park and listening to birds and watching the clouds?? Get out of here! They do all kinds of fun things together, such as you see above: for the time being Ahti II lives with his grandfather at the family's "summer cottage" (which is more like a mansion) by a lake, which means there's plenty of opportunities to swim. He has just introduced her to the dock right in front of the house! And right after Karleeen has gotten used to the way the water reflects the sun's rays and warmth, a swimming competition will take place...
