Posted: 12-7-18The first thing that Pumpkin noticed as she opened her eyes was the blinding light that was streaming in from a boarded up window. She shielded her face, slowly sitting up.
I’m… not dead.
Her eyes slowly began to adjust to the surrounding room. There were at least a dozen Wyngrew scattered throughout it on blankets, most of which appeared to be either unconscious or injured with their wounds tended to. Those who were awake were huddled in small groups, having an anxious, whispered conversation that Pumpkin struggled to hear.
I guess I’m in the barracks? But who brought me here? Where is everybody else? And what happened to the town? Did they manage to kill the Deelagun?
Slowly, she stood up, and made her way towards the door.
