Description Growing up with the German language version of Darkwing Duck, I was delighted to find that the original characters had partially different names, which turned out to be even greater... Splatter Phoenix, the villainous artist that appeared in only two episodes, became "Abstrusa Abstrakta" in the German synchronisation, yet when I first heard her English name, I completely fell for it. VoilΓ .

Given my nickname, it is fairly surprising that I've never drawn my namesake before. Yep, yep, yep,... that had to change. Here she is, busily re-painting herself with one of her magic brushes.

I wish I would know the Finnish name though (because I'm sure she would have a Finnish name, considering that around here just about every character got a Finnish name), but the episodes with Splatter Phoenix on them never aired around here.

I'm not sure why they were left out. In fact, I'm pretty sure that around here the television didn't show many DWD episodes.. Well, for some reason. I wish all the episodes would have aired around here, though.

Yay. Splatter Phoenix has always been my favorite DWD villain. When I first found your account, I was thrilled that there was someone out there going by the name that made such great Darkwing art to boot, heh.

By the way, Darkwing Duck in Swedish is also quite a lot of fun... I love Drake's Swedish voice. But I've got to admit that if I had to choose a second favourite version after the original, I'd definitely opt for the German one. Darkwing's voice is rather famous in Germany. And not only because he also did Captain Archer on Enterprise.

It is indeed... and for years it prevented me from watching Enterprise... I always thought Archer might burst into one of DW's typical introduction lines. xD
