Description
Ok, I only post this so that people can learn from my cheesy process. I love Anime and Comics, needless to say I have a few statues and Action figures that I really like. I tend to appreciate the ones that are well designed and sculpted, like this one! I only wanted to post this to show everyone a neat way to practice lighting and composition when and if a model isn’t handy. Film makers like Stephen Spielberg, and Peter Jackson play with miniatures all the time to set up shots, so it’s not stupid. Also I play with different lens filters to see how the light looks, I used a polarized lens filter on this shot which makes the darks darker. Too bad this isn’t a real girl.
Check out this black and white shot [link]
here is another really cool shot of her [link]

Thank you! Thats why I like it too. Many adults find it hard to respect the Figurines and Action Figures like they do a Michelangelo but the fact is, it’s very similar just on a different scale. I have a friend that works at McFarlane Toys who is a very good sculptor. He worked in film as well, Constantine, Stealth, and a few others. He even got to work with Weta Workshop with The Lord of the Rings People. I think if his company made life size sculptures people wouldn’t look at them like toys and dolls which everyone does now. You can’t really play with most of there figures, it’s art!
Thanks for the comment, but the credit should go to the Japanese Sculptor Matsuken and the character creator Shumya Yamashita.

You know I didn’t used to like Manga either, until I saw flicks like Ninja Scroll and Ghost in the Shell. I hated the faces on Voltron characters, and I really don’t like the Pokimon stuff. You should check out Samurai X and the others I mentioned. Very well written Anime. Vampire Hunter D is also a good one. I just appreciate good story and art, but I agree, a lot of Anime is bad.

True. I almost got a job working with them as an animator but I didn't really go after it like I should have at the time. I might try again one day. No one thought that show would last so long.
