A Costly Mistake

When Sister Lidya had rushed through the den, battered and bloody as she uttered bizarre words before collapsing. She was immediately brought to the den to heal, rest and recover as everyone else waited anxiously. Before her collapse she had called for the Lady and it was blatantly obvious to everyone that Brother Ragnarok did not return with her.

Now in contrast to the darkness she felt, the winter night sparkled, the stars illuminating Aryn in its glow. As she made her way to the rocky pillar that stood high above the gathering below, The Lady looked up. Her eyes shined as she held back the tears that threatened to fall, closing them briefly as she took a deep breath. The darkness of her coat shined silver under the light’s glow and within that glow she felt warmth. As if all Aryn’s lost stars sang to her, embraced her, engulfed her as if they were here. She felt that they were and now Ragnarok had joined their light.

She was ready.

The air was silent as all of Aryn awaited the Lady’s announcement. She had asked the Rah’at to gather all of Aryn for a meeting the minute she had left Lidya to rest. Looking toward all the faces she had come to call an Arynian over the course of her leadership, now she lay herself open to them. They would come to find her words spoken with all the hope, sadness and love she felt for them in this very moment. She made it her goal to protect them all and she would see that goal through no matter the cost of herself. Hearing of Ragnarok’s passing had only strengthened her resolve, she would not let them lose anymore. While that statement may be out of her power, she would give her all to see it through. Aryn would not fall. They had picked themselves up from the ashes of the Great Fire and if those ashes had proved anything it had proved their strength and faith. They would not be taken by beasts, they would not be forced into submission. They would keep hold of what is theirs and they will come out standing even taller.

Tonight she would give them everything she knew and tell them everything they needed to hear. For after tonight, they would prepare for war and she needed them all if they were to succeed.

“Brothers, Sisters and Honored Guests.”

“I stand before you all tonight, bearing unfortunate news. Sister Lidya has confirmed to me all of our worries and I am devastated to share that Brother Ragnarok passed the night of Sister Lidya’s return. May his spirit now reside with the One and all we have lost before him as he joins the Song.”

“I have also been informed that the wolves responsible for his death are the very wolves who have been plaguing us for months. They call themselves the Hive and are under the leadership of one known as General Hex. War has been declared on Aryn by her words alone, they seek to take our home. And so from this moment on, we will no longer be defensive. We will fight. We will fight to live, we will fight to love and we will fight to protect all that which we hold dear. Aryn has and will always be a family. So tonight, I proclaim that no mercy is to be spared for these ghosts who have taken one of our own. This Hive is now our enemy and any Hive wolves shall be dealt with accordingly. That being said, I will continue to keep Aryn open to any guests in order to help all those who are suffering from them as well. However, as of this moment on, no one is allowed to leave without permission from myself alone. All able bodies should continue their duties and gather basic attack or defense knowledge from our available Wardens. And I ask now that all wolves travel in groups of three when scouting or hunting for your safety.”

“As of this moment stand here unified and we give meaning to all we’ve lost. I made a vow to give Aryn my all and I will not break it. I ask that you do the same as we prepare for this battle. We are in this fight together, we are in this fight for each other, so I ask you all to stand with me-to stand with Aryn.”

“I know this news has left us all shaken, after everything we have lost. But I refuse we lose anyone else. Do not let Ragnarok’s sacrifice be in vain. Please take time to grieve and do not be afraid to reach out and help one another through this. I am always available for all of you. So for tonight, let us celebrate Ragnarok’s life. Let us stand together in mourning while we recite The Verse of Sorrows.”

After The Verse of Sorrows, all who wish to join come together in a howl that rings out across the night sky in memory of Ragnarok. Stars willed the sky as they cried out for their lost Brother. Taking this moment to reflect and collect themselves before the worst is set to begin…

!ATTENTION ALL ARYNIANS!

War has officially been declared on the group calling themselves the Hive. Lady Cassandra has stated no mercy will be shown and Aryn will enter a semi-state of lockdown for added safety precautions. The time to fight is now. Aryn is at War once more, will old wounds resurface...how will your wolf take this news? Do they stand with Lady Cassandra or do they believe a different route should be taken?

General Hex has also entered the Domain-specifically Aryn territory and is now available to be used for plots for Aryn wolves only!
