Description "Stomp, stomp, rarr. Stomp, stomp, rarr," Shantae went, going over the instructions in a book while subconsciously moving her hips side to side. She turned her head back to see her friend Sky walk in, her trusty warbird Wrench sitting comfortably on her shoulder.

"Heya', Shantae." She waved, making the half-genie set the book down and return the gesture with a smile, "What are you reading?"

"This book of magical dances that Uncle got me for my birthday yesterday." She held the book up to Sky, the image showing a belly dancer laughing maniacally while lightning was coming out of her hands and lasers from her eyes.

"Wow. Seems...fun?" Sky forced a smile while Wrench tilted his head.

"I know, right? In fact, I was gonna' try this one out first and see how it went." She flipped the book back open to the page she'd been at before, "It's called the Ultra Ursa dance and it sounds really really cool. It's all intimidating and stompy and it makes me look strong and tough." The genie beamed with pride, "I was actually going to try it out before you showed up. Wanna' watch me?"

"Yeah, sure." Sky nodded, "Just one thing first: this isn't going to make something explode or my hair fall out, is it?" She asked, crossing her arms in concern.

"Psh, come on, Sky. When has that ever happened except for that one time?" Shantae laughed as she took a quick skim of the instructions before she stood up and walked into the middle of her house, having cleared out a spot to perform. She stopped and closed her eyes, stretching her arms out and getting limbered up before she opened her eyes with a bright grin on her face. She walked forward and did a couple hip shakes before putting both her hands on her hips and lifting one her legs up to stomp and then doing the same with the other before bringing her arms up above her hand and making a fierce expression like she was roaring. Shantae held the pose for a moment or two, waiting for something to happen before she suddenly started to glow brightly and became pure light. Then, just like the other transformation dances she had performed countless times before, her form started to shift around, growing bigger and larger, eventually becoming three times Sky’s size. The light soon faded and the bird trainer was able to clearly see the new form that her friend had taken. Shantae had a massive body covered with thick, grey and purple fur with huge, burly arms and legs that sported long, sharp claws and strong paws. Just up top, her head had a large snout and a mouth filled with impressively large teeth that also seemed to be sporting the golden tiara she wore on her head in addition to the earrings and some red anklets.

“You’re...you’re a bear, Shantae!” Sky piped up, surprised at the new form, “I mean, I guess that should’ve been obvious from the name of the dance, but still! That’s really cool! How does it feel?”

“Like I can’t fit through doorways all that well anymore.” Shantae replied, her voice sounding a bit deeper and more snarly, “Although I might be a lot stronger now too.” She turned to look at a bookcase she had nearby that was filled with the other random books that Mimic had given her. She slowly moved over to it, still getting used to the awkwardness of her new size, and placed both her hands on the heavy oak case. After some loud grunting, the belly dancing bear finally managed to pick the entire thing up and hold it up for a time before setting it down, knocking some of the books off of it.

“Definitely stronger.” Sky nodded, Wrench doing the same.

“Way stronger! It would’ve taken me hours to move that by myself, and I just picked it up like it was nothing!” Shantae laughed, clapping her paws, “This is great! I love this new dance!” She closed her eyes as the glow returned and she returned back to her original form, “Wooo! That made me feel really good...like, wow!” She took a deep breath and then exhaled before her stomach made an uncharacteristically loud growl.

“Well...I was gonna’ treat you to a little belated birthday lunch, so great timing on my part, huh?” Sky smiled, “Wanna’ go?”

“You bet!” Shantae smiled as she followed her friend out, unaware that her normally very trim stomach seemed to have lost a slight edge to it as they left her home.

**

While she had never known the half-djinn to do anything halfway, Sky found herself stunned at just how quickly Shantae had eaten her meal. The plate of roasted sugar ham with mashed potatoes and carrots looked like it hadn't been used at all even as the culprit of its cleaning via consumption sat comfortably in her chair wiping her face with a napkin.

"Wow, girl. You must've been really hungry." Sky commented with a nervous chuckle.

"Ooof, yeah." The purple-haired girl replied as she lightly drummed on her middle, "Guess turning into something big and huge like that works up an appetite."

"Yeah. Hopefully that doesn't happen every time you use that dance." The blonde birder commented.

"You're worried about me getting fat?" Shantae laughed, "Come on, Sky. With as much work as I do running around and saving the world and everything, I can keep fit pretty easy." She leaned back in the chair and patted her belly.

“Well, as long as you’re confident.” Sky smiled as she went back to eating her own food. Before she could continue making any headway, however, she was interrupted by their mutual friend and fellow defender of Scuttle Town Bolo coming over to the table.

“Hey, girls.” He waved at them.

“Bolo, hi!” Shantae smiled at him, “Sky just got me a birthday lunch!” She beamed.

“I could grab you a drink if you want.” Sky offered him.

“That’d be great.” He sat down next to Shantae, “Oh, sorry that I forgot your birthday, by the way. Here’s something for you.” He smiled as he set a box down in front of her.

“Oh, Bolo, thank you so much.” She smiled as she started to open the package, only for a loud whistling sound to come from outside as a cannonball suddenly crashed through the wall where they were sitting at, burying the table underneath it along with Shantae’s gift and Sky’s lunch, all three completely shocked as cries and shouts came from outside.

“Pirates! Pirates have come!” One of the townspeople yelled as he rushed past the new doorway the restaurant had unexpectedly acquired.

“Seriously?” Shantae groaned, “Agh, well, I guess back to the grind.” She rolled her eyes before hopping over the debris and headed towards Scuttle Town’s docks.

“So much for my lunch.” Sky did the same while following close behind. Bolo, in the meantime, pushed the cannonball aside while picking up the squished box.

“Hopefully it’s as good as it says it is…” He commented as he too took off after his friends.

***

“Hmmm...that should’ve got her attention by now.” Risky Boots mused to herself, watching from the deck of her Tinker Tub vessel as she closely kept an eye out for the sign of her target of this particular raid. Thankfully the self-proclaimed Pirate Queen didn’t have to wait long, a smirk crossed her lips the instant she saw Shantae and the other two whose names she didn’t bother to remember come up onto the docks, “Now’s my queue.” She walked up onto the bow, crossing her arms and making her presence known.

“Risky Boots!” Shantae shouted.

“Ah, well if it isn’t the half-pint half-genie.” The pirate looked down at the three of them, "I heard that it was your birthday recently and I decided to come and give you a very explosive present that the entire town can enjoy!" She cackled as her ship turned and suddenly had an enormous cannon pop out from the back and aim toward them, "Unfortunately, I don't think I remembered to get a gift receipt. I hope you don't mind." She sneered.

"We'll see about that." Shantae cracked her knuckles as she stepped forward, "Guys, keep the Tinkerbats busy. I'll handle Risky." She glanced back at her two allies before continuing toward the boat.

"You sure you can do that on your own?" Bolo asked with concern in his voice.

"She's got a new trick. I think she'll be fine." Sky added, sporting a tinge of a smirk as Bolo turned to her and then back at Shantae as he now appeared more confused than worried at this point.

"Oh come now, Shantae. You know that this never works out for you trying to take my ship on by yourself. Do you want to be out of a job again?" Risky cackled.

"Not this time, Risky." Shantae walked up close and got herself into position, "This time you'll find that your punishment for coming here is going to be unBEARable!"

"What? What is that even supposed to mean?" The pirate blinked, watching as the yin to her decisive yang started to do her dancing thing. Risky quickly took notice of the more heavily aggressive nature of the dance and kept her eyes focused and her hand on her sword.

“Stomp, stomp, rarr...stomp, stomp, RARRR!” Shantae went as she slammed her foot down on the wood, making a loud boom go off before she raised both her hands up. Like before, she turned into light and reshaped into the larger form.

“Oh, you’re a big round bear! I’m SOOOOOO scared.” Risky laughed, “Maybe I’ll just aim the cannon at-HEY! STOP THAT!” Her boasting quickly turned to panic as Shantae rushed the ship, putting both her paws on it as she actually started to move it to the side. Cries and squeaks came from the Tinkerbats aboard as Shantae dug her razor sharp claws into the sides before planting both feet on the dock and letting out a deep growl as part of the hull was ripped clean off.

“Whoa…” Bolo blinked in amazement.

“MY SHIP!” The purple-skinned pirate suddenly found her face becoming red with anger before turning her attention to the scattering crew, “Aim the cannon at her!” She barked. They immediately complied and went to work, moving cranks around to get the enormous weapon in position. Before they could, however, Shantae grit her teeth and pressed both her feet down, bracing herself as she gripped the side of the ship once more. Then, with another deafening roar, she took a hard step forward and actually managed to fling the Tinker Tub across the water, causing it to spin out of control as its navigator desperately tried to get it back under control. Unfortunately, she didn't manage in time as it rammed into some rocks and immediately started leaking before it quickly sunk beneath the waves.

"Rarrrrrrrr!" Shantae pounded a fist against her chest and roared at the top of her lungs at the victory.

“Told you.” Sky said with a knowing smile to the thoroughly stunned Bolo. Before anything else could happen, the three of them could see a boat leaving the wreckage stuffed with Tinkerbats and one very perturbed privateer.

“You’re going to regret this, Shantae! I’ll be back with one of the biggest cannons I’ve ever made!” Risky shouted as it sped off into the sea as the half-genie turned back to her normal form, striking a pose.

“I LOVE THIS NEW DANCE!” She cheered, hopping up and down as she ran over to the two of them, “Let’s go finish up that lunch and celebrate!” She said, patting Bolo on the head as she walked by them and headed off toward the town.

“I guess that’s that.” Bolo chuckled as he turned to follow her.

“Wait...did she just…” Sky tilted her head as she looked over and followed them.

***

After another lunch (in which Shantae re-ordered the same thing she’d had before while jokingly asking the waiter to ‘hold the cannonball’), the trio made their way back to Shantae’s house. On the way, however, Shantae stopped to use her powerful new tool to transform into the purple bear and help a couple of Scuttle Town’s citizens with some of the repairs needed. The more she did it, however, the more noticeable the change in her body became. After returning to her human form, her belly seemed to have plumped up and started to push out and her face had gotten a little more round. Sky had also easily noticed that her poofy red harem pants had filled out, though that was more from her becoming taller rather than wider as she was starting to show off a lot more leg than she normally did.

“Hey, uh, Shantae...have you noticed anything at all about yourself? Like recently?” She spoke up as they reached the half-genie’s house.

“I feel a lot more confident if that’s what you mean.” She smiled, almost bumping her head on the door as they walked inside, “Oh yeesh. I might need to get that fixed.”

“No, I mean like...physically.” Sky emphasized.

“Oh? Y’know, not really. I was noticing that my hair seemed to be a little more bouncy. It might’ve been that new shampoo that I’ve been using.” The half-gene chuckled as she flicked her long ponytail to the side, snapping at the air.

“Sky means you’re getting taller and fatter.” Bolo said, bluntly. Sky rolled her eyes and facepalmed. On the one hand, he could’ve phrased it more nicely but she was at least happy that the normally dense fighter had picked up on what was happening as well.

“Am I?” Shantae examined herself and rubbed her middle, “Huh...I thought it was just because I got done eating.” She wandered over to a mirror, “Oh...and yeah, my head is a little out of view of the mirror.” She turned back to face her friends, “Risky didn’t use some weird device on me during the fight and I don’t remember it, right?”

“No. I think it’s the Ultra Ursa Dance.” Sky spoke up, “You definitely gained some extra pounds and inches between here and the restaurant. How have you not noticed?”

“I guess I’m still riding the high from how great it felt to rip Risky’s boat a new one...figuratively and literally.” She giggled.

“Could just be growing pains from your body getting used to turning into a huge bear.” Bolo shrugged, “Maybe just ease up on it and you should be okay.”

“Sound advice.” Shantae nodded. She then looked over, seeing him holding the crushed package, “Oh, and I’m sorry about your gift, Bolo. I can still open it if you want.”

“It should be fine.” He smiled and gave it to her. She started to open it and was surprised to see clothing in it, similar to her harem and tube-top outfit, only blue rather than red. Even more shocking was that it was completely unharmed, “I got it at a flea market. It’s apparently completely indestructible and I figured with as much adventuring and fighting and stuff as you do, having a pair of clothes that can take a lot of punishment might be handy in a pinch.”

“Oh, that’s so thoughtful, Bolo!” She dove forward and gave him a hug, making the blue-haired boy turn red, “Thank you so much, I love it!”

“Y-you’re welcome.” He said, doing his best to stay composed. She then released him and rushed off behind a curtain to try them on.

“Bolo has a  point, Shantae. Until you know fully what it’s going to do, you should limit how much you use it.” Sky spoke up.

“Oh, don’t worry, I’ll make sure to do that!” She replied.

***

“I can’t believe she didn’t do it.” Sky sighed, walking outside and seeing a large figure just above the buildings of Scuttle Town and immediately recognized it...or rather her>.

All of her.

It had been a couple days since Risky’s failed attack on the town and Shantae had gotten to work doing her part as the town’s guardian genie to help set things back to the way they were. That also meant using her powers to move rubble and help with reconstruction efforts. While the bear dance had certainly come in handy, its effects on Shantae were becoming more and more apparent with each passing day.

Her entire frame had blimped out into a quite buxom image of roundness. The tan girl’s already impressive hips had grown into thick, juicy hams that seemed to dominate her lower body, though her bouncy rear didn’t disappoint either as it jiggled and bounced underneath her pants even when she wasn’t dancing about. Her tum spilled out over the top of her waist into a chunky double-belly that served also as a way to prop up the cannonballs that were her breasts. Rounded out arms, plump fingers and an adorable pair of chipmunk cheeks topped off the genie’s new filled out frame.

Despite her proportions being somewhat normal, however, the most unusual appearance that Shantae seemed to sport was that they would be normal for someone of normal height...which she wasn’t at the moment. Due to the spell’s side-effects, she also had grown like a weed up into a giantess that caused the ground to shake and foundations to break wherever she stepped. Sky, however, was at least thankful for the clothes that Bolo had given her and that she was at least clothed up...for whatever that was worth with how much her fat was spilling out. As the avian aficionado made her way just below the chunky giantess’ feet, Shantae immediately noticed her and waved.

“Hi, Sky!” Her voice boomed , making a couple citizens just below her yelp and hop from the sudden sound.

“Uh...hey, Shantae.” Sky returned the wave, “Soooooo, how are things? You look a little different these days.”

“I mean, not all THAT different.” Shantae waved her hand, “I mean, I guess I have gotten a little bigger than I was before I started doing the dance.” She giggled, a wide grin on her face.

“Uh huh…” Sky nodded, folding her arms in front of her chest while Wrench tilted his head. Silence fell over the two for a moment before Shantae finally spoke up.

“Okay, okay, okay! I know! I’m huge and fat!” She whined, “I wasn’t going to use it until I found out a way to reverse it but I just started feeling so good doing it and then I was really strong and I just wanted to keep helping out everyone so I just decided to keep going.”

“Alright, alright, just calm down.” Sky held up her hand, “We’ll totally get this figured out. Just relax.”

“Okay, okay.” Shantae took some deep breaths, “I can do this. Just have to stay calm.” She said to herself, closing her eyes and swaying her arms slowly around in an effort to help maintain a sense of peace. However, she then opened her eyes again and saw Bolo walking over.

“Liking the outfit, Shantae.” He said, giving a thumbs-up.

“Thanks, Bolo!” She smiled and clapped her hands, kneeling down to get closer to both of her close friends, “I love them so much!”

“I’m glad you do. You wear it well..” He nodded, “Oh, and I checked with a person out in the harbor and they spotted Risky Boots coming with a big cannon on a ship.” Bolo finished his statement. Both girls whirled right at him in utter shock before Sky finally spoke up.

“Bolo, why in the heck didn’t you lead with that?!” She cried, facepalming.

“I wanted to start off with the compliment to help ease her mind?” Bolo cocked his head.

“Well, one thing for me to do then.” Shantae cracked her knuckles as she started walking off toward the harbor, making the ground shake and quake underneath her before easing into the waves.

***

“Alright, make sure that it’s fully charged and ready to go this time.” Risky barked at her crew while turning her gaze on the weapon that she’d designed and installed on the small ship that she’d ‘borrowed’ from a port across the sea, “Shantae won’t know at all what hit her this time.” She grinned brightly as they started to close in on Scuttletown’s harbor, the cannon humming  loudly as energy started to crackle around it. Before Risky could totally bask in her apparent moment of triumph, a Tinkerbar came up and tapped her shoulder, "What is it?" She grumbled, looking at the little creature before it pointed out toward the water. Ripples seemed to be forming in a large section in front of them before they turned into waves that gently rocked the ship from side to side before the intensity increased and an enormous figure began to rise up above them. Risky blinked several times before she finally recognized it as her long-time rival...just a bit taller and wider in this instance.

"I'm giving you one chance, Risky Boots!" Shantae pointed at the pirate, "Take your ship and your weapon and leave...the harbor...right now-why are you laughing?!"

"BECAUSE YOU'RE SO FAT!" Risky cackled, "I couldn't have even dreamed a scheme like this up! I love it!" She went on before adjusting the cannon, "It makes you an even bigger target in addition to being hilarious." She beamed sinisterly up at Shantae as the energy around the weapon hummed and peaked. Thinking quickly, Shantae took a familiar stance and prepared herself to keep the blast from hitting Scuttletown as everyone in the vicinity covered their eyes from the blinding flash of the shot. Once it cleared, Risky grinned and looked up expecting to see a grilled genie but was surprised when her eyes met those of a gigantic, growling purple bear with a little bit of singed fur. Before she could say or do anything, Shantae merely leaned down, placed a claw over the cannon's barrel and twisted it off like the cap on a bottle of soda. She then smirked while tossing it over her shoulder into the water, crossing her arms as she shrunk down (slightly) and turned back into her human self.

"You were saying?” Shantae chuckled.

GLOOOOOOORP!

The sound that came from Shantae’s belly immediately drew both girls’ attention as each of their eyes stared right at her middle, the churning and bubbling growing louder and louder with each passing second before it suddenly stopped. Pirate and genie looked into each other’s eyes before utter panic crossed Risky’s eyes as Shantae’s cheeks plumped up like she’d just been stung by a bee only for several more chins to appear just below her face. Her breasts bulked up in an instant while her belly and butt did the same as they stretched out the fabric of her new outfit, her middle beginning to hang lower over her top as her bare arms became jiggly bingo wings and her legs filled out the poofy pants.

“RAISE SAILS, YOU DINKERBATS!” Risky Boots shouted as she took the helm of the ship and prepared to turn the rudders in the opposite direction from the girthening giantess. While she did eventually manage to take off, it wasn’t long before another burst of growth hit Shantae and her gain quickly resumed, fat spilling out into the ocean like thick syrup as it poured across, swallowing up Risky in the chunky folds. The same happened from the opposite side as the wave of chonk covered Scuttle Town. With each passing minute, Shantae’s once plump frame had quickly become blobby as she not only gained pounds but inches upward, soaring above the sky like a sun-kissed giant blob. Her fat-laden face moved around nervously until it couldn’t anymore from all the flab squishing against it as she grew and grew, becoming even more worried once the only thing she could see around her was, well, her. Her priorities quickly shifted, however, once she glanced up and could see the sky starting to darken around her. At first she was confused about it since it was clearly the afternoon when she had confronted Risky but her fears quickly became founded once she could see stars all around and above her and her rolls started to touch different temperatures and sensations. Eventually, her growth ceased as she felt lighter than expected with her entire voluminous body (that had pulled Bolo’s outfit for her as tight as it could possibly go) surrounding the planet below in a thick cocoon of flab.

“Ohhhh no.” She said, anxiety in her voice, “I can’t believe this happened!”

“I can.” A voice came from just next to her. Shantae glanced to her left, eyes lighting up as she could just barely make out Bolo and Sky sitting on one of her neck rolls.

“Guys! You’re okay!” She declared happily, “Erm...I’m sorry about...you know. This.” She blushed deeply.

“No no, it’s fine. Apparently you had some magical thing happen where it didn’t really crush anything and just kinda’...swallowed it.” Sky shrugged.

“Heh. Guess that means you’re a guardian genie of the whole world instead of just Scuttle Town!” Bolo laughed.

“Y’know, you’re right! Bright side!” Shantae grinned, “Although this is gonna’ take some getting used to...and wow does my belly button itch! I wonder what’s down there?”

***

Risky leaned over the railing on her ship as the Tinkerbats slowly edged the boat forward with comically large oars, her face propped up on her arm as she listlessly looked around the dark, warm surroundings of the lardy cavern she and her crew had ended up in, although she knew exactly what it was.

“I can’t tell if I should be angry or impressed right now.” She groaned, taking her hat off and wiping sweat from her brow, “Both. Definitely both.”
