Nella's going for the somewhat un-Rescuely threat is that last time she dealt with Sneasels she lost control of her Flamethrower and almost killed herself and the Sneasels. Better to do something she's uncomfortable with then risk endangering many lives.

heh, a sunny day powered flamethrower is too much for any sneasel to handle. and oh gosh, I didn't think the sneasel was going to eat the eggs, I thought he was going to try to sell them or something

Don't forget Flash Fire and Flame Burst (and the possibly unnecessary Nasty Plot) Nella knows her fire.
It says in the Pokedex Sneasel do eat eggs, so why not. It's better than babies.
