Description
I luff Blue-Footed Boobies. There are several varieties of Booby, a few of which are indiginous to the Galapagos Islands. Blue-Footeds aren't, but they are a unique bird for sure!Did you KNOW!?
It isn't pigmentation that makes their feet blue. Nor is it anything humans are really used to in terms of skin/eye/etc coloring. It's actually a bunch of bubbles packed closely together. Yes, bubbles! So in other words, if you squeeze a blue-footed booby's foot, the color will go away within a few minutes. (Not that I'm advising that, it's illegal to touch wildlife in the Galapagos Islands!)
