Isn't he just adorable? That name. Ha! How ironic. This is probably one of my scariest characters. I figured he'd be a pretty good match for the Halloween Contest I'm holding right now. This design was a long time in the works, beginning as an innocent kitten over a year ago. Only a few months ago, I turned him a monster. Haha, I'm a terrible person.

Name: Snowy

Species: Scottish Fold Cat

Gender: Male

Age: 3? (In human terms, 18-19)

Personality: Cold, distant and serious. He seems to find torture amusing, but is never really happy.

Background: He was found as a blind, orphaned kit and taken in by Moonshine(another one of my characters). Moonshine didn't really want the responsibility, because he was hardly an adult himself and was anything but serious. Moonshine tried to take care of Snowy, but he was an insensitive joker and easily distracted. One day, while walking through the woods, Moonshine ran off to talk to another cat and Snowy fell into a ravine attempting to follow him. Snowy was hurt and disoriented by the fall. He didn't make a sound, so Moonshine never turned to look for him. After a few hours of lying in pain at the bottom of the cliff, Snowy heard a voice nearby. He felt a spine-chilling presence that brought both fear and comfort to the suffering kitten. The presence was a shadowy demon. This demon convinced Snowy that he had been intentionally abandoned. The demon offered to help the young cat see the 'truth' and make him stronger than he could ever believe. By then, Snowy was desperate to relieve all of the pain, both physical and emotional, and accepted the offer, unaware of what he had just done. The demon flew straight through him and filled his body with dark energy. This energy seeped out into his wounds and healed them in just minutes. His eyes constantly emanate this same substance. Now Snowy wanders as a loner in search of revenge. He wants to make Moonshine suffer as he did for leaving him behind.

(Of course, Moonshine eventually noticed and went back to search for Snowy quite frantically, but it was already too late. Moonshine never forgave himself for what happened; and though he combed the forest many times, he couldn't find Snowy. The events of that day forced him to grow up very quickly.)

Powers: Snowy is still technically blind, but he 'sees' by extending shadows across the ground around him. The demon works symbiotically to interpret the signs of the shadows, so his host can see. Snowy can still catch a bird flying around by listening to the sound of its wings, though, so he isn't 100% blind without his powers. These shadows can also take physical form and can be used to engulf and grab things.

BTW, no one knows the demons true motives as of now, but being a demon, he must have had a really good reason for choosing to possess a blind, helpless cat, as opposed to a strong, ruthless one. Perhaps we shall find out one day...mwahaha.
