But the phone never rang.

I figured you finally decided it was best for you to end it. Fair enough. It wasn't working. I know that.

I won't hold on to something that's already dead, despite the difficulty.
I've grown stronger alone than I could in your shadow.
I'm different now. At least a little.

Don't think I don't still care, though. I do.
If I saw you again, I'd want to run up and hug you just like old times.
