Description Influences for both art and written work:

1) Franz Ackermann (contemporary artist) - Love the combination of bright patterns and inner worlds through the portholes!

2) Laya the Witch of Red Pooh (manga by Yo Yo) - Liked the cartoonified layout of some of the scenes and the detailed drawings, particularly the clothes.

3) The Armstrong and Miller show - Most British comedy inspires me but chose a few of my favourites. Love the range of roles, especially when some of those are reversed (such as the pilots pictured here).

4) The Young Ones- Another fave. A lot of the 80s British comedy has influence on my character ideas and writing. Here really enjoyed the character dynamics and the engergy from them.

5) Not the Nine O' Clock News - All hail sketch shows! The sketch pictured is one of my favourites - Great combo of satire and sillyness.

6) Blackadder (all series) - LOADS of great lines in these series! Plus really strong (and funny) characters.

7) Terry Pratchett's work, particularly Masquerade and Wintersmith. A great inspiration for parodies. Fave genre is a fusion of fantasy and humour.

8) Soul Eater- Loved the art style and concept of the characters' world when I first watched it (school run by Death!?) That and the humour.

9) Yves Tanguy (Surrealist artist) - Really like the randomness and endless possibilities of surrealism. You're left guessing as to whether the shapes are scenery or creatures (great inspiration for a dream world!)

10) Oh! Edo Rocket - anime I've really got into recently. Liked how the dialogue was written as well as the complete madness of it (18th century with aliens and computer technology)

11) Tim Burton style films - Like the art style used for fantasy concepts/ characters for its uniqueness.

12) The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series (by Douglas Adams) - Inspired more by the book and the radio series than the film. Some very memorably funny scenes in the story and would love to be able to create a fictional world in so much scientific detail.

13) Banksy- A big influence for artwork in the past year. Really like how he uses everyday society to form his satires. A very clever way of getting a message across!
