"KATE IS MISSING?!" Was the first thing out of Sparky's mouth when they finally got to the Mushroom Kingdom.
The wide eye panic clear in her eyes.

There were a handful of people in the castle, some human, some anthro-- Mobian, Sparky had told them anthros were called in this universe, and had described several of the friends she knew in the Dream Universe so they all know who they were.

"Sparks?!" Sonic blinked upon seeing the small cat enter the castle. "Oh uh... you found the missing posters, didn't you?"

"Yes and I would very much like to know why Kate is missing!" She exclaimed. "What happened?!"

The heroes of the Dream Universe exchanged awkward glances. "That's the thing, we don't know." Peach replied.

"I was the last person to see her, she said she was going on a walk, but she never came back!" Silver frowned guiltly. "I should've gone after her, but she wanted to be left alone!"

Meanwhile, the Misadventure Crew were concerned, they were missing a friend? "Do you think she got kidnapped?" Eric raised an eyebrow. That was a logical explanation for someone disappearing without a trace.

"We checked, none of the bad guys we know kidnapped her." Sonic shook his head.

"Where did she go?" Kenny questioned, they wanted to help, they hadn't met Kate yet, but she was Sparky's friend and a friend to these people, they would do their best to help find her.
As for Sparks... an ominous thought appeared in her head. If Kate was missing and wasn't kidnapped... could she be dead?

No! Maybe she just left without telling anyone, she heard that happened once, maybe it happened again considering Kate had gone though a hard time lately...

The last time she had seen Kate, the Dreamer of Peace wasn't doing great thanks to Fawful... Sparky almost growled thinking of that name, the heartless fiend had made her friends suffer for no reason other than he thought of them as lab rats!

But maybe he was the reason Kate was gone... he did kill someone last time... maybe this time he decided to take her friend away.

Even if he did kill her, there's no way the universe would let her stay dead, maybe she just respawned somewhere! A hopeful thought came into her head, but Sparky recoiled at the thought of saying it aloud.

Once, she asked Kate if there was a chance her old childhood friend could come back, Kate looked reluctant to answer, but had eventually told the truth that it was very unlikely that her friend could come back... if at all.

And saying that out loud around her friends, especially around Xeity who had lost his sister... it would tear them apart, either from waiting for someone that could never return, or spend the rest of their lives scouring across universes...

She couldn't let that happen, so Sparky prayed that Kate was out there somewhere.

She had to be!
