I dunno. I drew it last night and scanned it in, and I just jumped straight into it without any real thought. It looks like a cross between a Pukeko and a Kiwi a little bit, and the colour of it's belly almost looks like a Paua shell so I decided to go with the NZ feel and name it in Maori.
