Uuuugh, this fucking thing took over a week to finish. As much as I love how these sorts of fancy pieces turn out, I always loathe how time consuming they are when it comes to doing advanced shading and shit.

So I have a buddy who created a Discord server specifically for her interesting series,Last Night at the Masquerade, which revolves around monsters of all sorts gathering together at an animal-themed ball located somewhere in America. Considering that certain species of these monsters are already animal-based, such as nagas or harpies, dressing up accordingly is no problem for them. Because of this, the characters are nicknamed after their animal costumes. (For example: a centaur would be called Horse and a mermaid would be called Fish.) I had decided to include my German vampire OC who I created over a year ago, Zephyr, in this universe since he’s an easy character to work with. He’d obviously attend this masquerade as a bat.

The acquaintance behind the mentioned series had made a French swan character named Aurore who is a species called copycat. They are called this because they can shift between human forms and their true animalistic selves. Though I think it would have been fitting to name the species mimics since Aurore particularly turns into a swan, not a cat. XD My buddy was captivated by my Zephyr character that she wanted to ship Aurore with him, which I didn’t mind since I’m a sucker for the whole opposites attract thing. I’m curious to see how she interprets the couple’s dynamic.

Since it’s just the two of them, that’s why Aurore’s teeth look sharp here to reveal how like Zephyr, she is not a human. And the elongated neck alludes to her swan-like nature too. A neck that’s perfect for the German noble to nibble. She doesn’t seem to mind though as she clearly trusts him enough to allow him a small drink…
