Ah, Primal Rage. Despite your stiff controls and awkward combo system, you have provided me with many fond childhood memories. And I mean, hell, I still love the game. I think what Primal Rage lacks in contols it makes up for with really awesome characters and concepts. And it's fun to button-smash with friends |3And of course, my favorite of the characters is Vertigo, the goddess of insanity. She's a venom-spewing, hypnotizing, cobrasaurus from another goddamn dimension...what's not to love? I...I've always had quite a thing for her ;__; One of my earliest lesbian crushes, that's for sure xD

ah i remember this game now. yeah I played it on chuck echeese when i was younger. I remember this guy being the coolest creature on the character select screen, all the other ones were just some t-rex look alikes or monkeys. nice piece.

Your work is amazing. Vertigo sure is one hot crazy dinosaur goddess.
I have only one criticism for this picture; the green parts are clearly the most eye-catching colour on the image. However, it's also the colour with the least depth. The rest of her body has highlights and shadows, and the background has that texture, so bringing people's attention to the flattest colour on an otherwise very 3D piece kinda stops the image from jumping out as much as it could do. I think adding even the slightest highlights to her teeth, claws and spines would make a great improvement.

Huh, thank you for bringing that to my attention! I guess when I did this I wanted a sort of "day-glo" look to the green parts, but I think you're right about it flattening things. That's something I'll keep in mind for future drawings :3 Thanks again!

I was playing Primal Rage just yesterday ^_^ Found the old arcade game in a hotel game room. I used to just smash the buttons like crazy because I had no idea what the heck I was doing

My sole interest in Primal Rage sprung from Vertigo. Another early sign of my infatuation with insane fiction females.

You know, I don't think it's even a little bit weird to have a slight crush on her. Vertigo has a style and personality that more than transcended the fact that she was a thirty foot high snake-dinosaur monster from the Moon.
And I do believe this is my favorite rendition of the character ever. It takes all her defining features and emphasizes them. Less intentionally stop-motiony than the game models, but I can't imagine how one would make a drawing look like stop-motion.
I like that, while snakelike, she still looks like her own unique creature, instead of one animal tacked onto another. The eyes, the eyelash-spines, the sinuous body, large blade and wiry but strong-looking limbs all really bring it out. A lot of interpretations make her into a cold, calculating dominatrix sort, but this drawing flat out looks like the mystical goddess of insanity she is! I like the addition of bright green and the fact that you kept her goth-stripes, and didn't abbreviate her tail blade. That always gets either overlooked or overdone, I find.
Really, an overall perfect rendition of my favorite Primal Rage character.
