Since we started doing comparisons in English, I realised I liked comparing people. It got me thinking... are there any comparisons I can make with my own characters? I decided to consider my two most recent stories. Yes, we haven't seen the princesses in a while, have we? After a bit of thinking, I realised that these three pairs have a fair few similarities.

I was considering posting these parallels in a big wall of text, but:
1. I doubt anyone actually cares.
2. A lot of the comparisons rely on plot points or traits that I haven't yet explored on here.
But I'll give you my big essay if you ask for it in the comments.

Basically it boils down to:
Eliana and Opal:
Tend to suppress emotions; older sister figures; often economical with the truth; serve the greater good over the individual, sometimes at the expense of their own happiness and that of those close to them.

Selina and Annika:
Let emotions rule them, to disastrous effects; become resentful towards older sister figure; more blunt and straightforward; protect their own family/friends at the expense of others.

Melody and Lucy:
More balanced between emotional and stoic; younger characters who have to fix problems of the past with a fresh outlook; bringers of hope; can be naive and have to learn to face harsh realities.
