Description
Bullets dissolved in the pure energy of Valkyr's aegis, each shot ringing out across the damaged overpass. Limbs and entrails lay scattered across the concrete, visible only by moon and firelight. The insane Warframe dragged the Grineer progenitor's corpse across the bodies of his comrades, her own demented thoughts drowning out the gunfire and shouts.
Immediate Music - We Made This War
In lieu of actual Grineer, on account of not having their models, I opted to use certain permutations of the Blacklight: Retribution soldiers. They look to me like they'd be fitting of a much earlier generation of Grineer clones.

I had this pose sitting around for a couple of weeks before I finally got around to editing it last night, and I'm fairly satisfied with the results. Unfortunately, the texture that was pulled from the game for Valkyr's helmet was not the full resolution, and I had to attack it with some fancy pantsy filters from TopazLabs (which I have used before to reduce pixellation and such when up-scaling textures, quite effective), and then paint over it a bit in Photoshop. It still doesn't look as good as it could, but I'm not very good at painting over things, and I didn't have enough patience to.

Oh my god, that's awesome! I admire the way you used the Blacklight soldiers, too!
What map is that...? I feel like I've seen something like it somewhere before.

Thanks!
And it's actually a plain, black map called "gm_flatgrass_dark". Just like almost everything else I've done, it's a custom scenebuild.

How do you scene build again? Sorry gotta ask people with the best experience of editing.

Well, ideally you get a map with no lights and fog\sky support, like gm_black or gm_flatgrass_dark.
Then, you get scenery props and build up a scene; people have different ways of doing it, though.
Like only setting up certain portions so that it really only works from the camera angle they chose, or (as I do), setting them up to seem as if they're actual maps by taking the time to design something that can be used from multiple angles with ease. That, however, takes quite a bit of time.
The bonus to building your own scenes is that you have absolute control over the light and fog conditions, with lamps, lights, and Fog\Sky Editors.
This thread on Facepunch has a few broken links, but some of the resources are still available, and you'll find plenty in the standard Valve games if you have them.
Best concept to have in mind when scenebuilding IMO is what sort of map you would ideally have for a certain pose, and then make it out of what resources you have available.

Ah thank you man, was using the same method with theΒ gm_flatgrass_night, editing my posed models in mid air to fit the background I found with multipleΒ lighting. Thanks to you, I can find new ways to edit now.Β Thanx a bunch.Β Β
