Description
Whoo more fanart! This time it's Juri Arisugawa from the anime series Revolutionary Girl Utena.Aside from being an awesome character, my main inspiration for drawing this is that I find the way they draw her hair in the show to be super ugly. Seriously, curly hair can be so pretty. But no, they drew it so it looked awful most of the time.
I also took some liberties with the color of her pants. I am not a believer in the salmon-pink and orange color combination.
I'm sorry I cheeped out on her sword. I'm a horrible person.
BUT ANYWAY. Awesome show. Awesome character. I re-watched most of it when I should have been job-hunting.
Drawn and Inked by hand, colored in Photoshop.

Just showed it to her now, and she does. And she loves the new Utena and Anthy picture you just posted as well!

Thanks!
Hm... I'm trying to think of a way to describe the series briefly. >_>
Pretty much when Utena was a little girl she was helped by a guy she considered to be a prince, and it inspired her to be a prince when she grows up. She goes to this school when she's older looking for this prince. The whole series is a bunch of crazy visual metaphors, and stories symbolizing other stuff, and honestly if I briefly explained much more about what happens, it would make no sense. But it has lots of cool looking sword fights and the story has a lot to do with gender roles and friendship.
The first time I saw it I thought it was the weirdest thing, but it seriously grew on me over time.

Hm... I imagine it gets into confusing gender roles quite often to make it funny, huh?

Actually and surprisingly... no. Though the series does have it's funny moments. One other thing I should mention is that some of the content kinda requires a maturity level of about 17+, but the art style looks like it's for 13-year-olds. It leaves many people confused, including myself at first. x_x
