My plans were set, and I was ready to go. Only one thing was left to do and that was to tell my brother about what I was planning....He didn't take it well.
"Seika, are you crazy!? This could be a suicide mission!"
"Doesn't matter, I'm still going."
"Why?! No one's making you! You don't have to do this. What if they find out who you really are and why you're there? They'll kill you!"
"That's a risk I'm willing to take.."
"Then you're an idiot! And what about your friends? Do they know about what you're doing?"
"....Not sure...Ghebaas knows, or at least suspects what I'm doing...He's going to try to keep my absence from being noticed as long as he can."
"He's actually helping you do this!?"
"Yes."
"You can't beat an army on your own! You're risking death just because your stupid pride has been hurt!"
I whirled around and grabbed the front of his shirt, yanking him down to eye level. I stared at my brother with hard, angry eyes and said angrily.
"Yes! I'm doing this for my pride! I've spent my whole life trying to convince my people I'm just as good as they are! And just when I thought I'd done that, it was all taken away from me be a band of half-witted renegades! I'm not going to sit back and do nothing! Can you honestly say that your people haven't been treating you differently since the Nameless started this war?"
He looked off to one side, avoiding looking into my eyes.
"I-It hasn't been that bad....Sure a few people have said things, or given me dirty looks. But most people don't seem to care...It isn't a big deal..."
"Maybe not to you, but it is to me. You're a pacifist, I'm not. You've been trained to heal, I've been trained to fight. We may be twins, but we are not the same. You follow your path, brother....And I'll follow mine...."
I let go of him and starting walking off. I'd said what I came to say, and I saw no point in hanging around. I had been walking for a while when I heard him calling after me.
"Wait! Seika, wait!"
I stopped and turned to see him running toward me.
"What is it?"
"If you are going, then I am too!"
"Why? You said this could be a suicide mission."
"I did, but even if it is a suicide mission....You're still my sister....And I won't let you go alone."
My eyes softened slightly.
"Let's go then."

Yay for really short stories!!
As for what mission Seika and Zephyr are undertaking....That is a secret. ;3
I won't say much more, except that they left without their leaders' permission, and without really telling anyone where they going or what they are planning. So...they will probably be in trouble whenever people start noticing they are gone. X3
What happens next? Well....you'll just have to wait and see.
And I'd like Zephyr to have the points from this, pwease. :3

Seika: *once again there was a pause before she spoke* Both of those things....and others besides.

Seika: *she shook her head* I don't know...I guess it's ....my fault.

Seika: *she shrugged* Maybe I wasn't trying hard enough, or perhaps there's just something wrong with me that I don't know about...

Eamin: Or there's something wrong with the system. I was banished from the Aweiens because I had to much of the 'Iukan anger.' Do you think I would have fit in with your Iukans?

Seika: *she shrugged* I can't say for sure. Perhaps you would have....Although my brother never seemed to have had much of a problem fitting in with the Eyrdens at all. *she looked at her hands* We're so different it's hard to believe we're twins....I thought it would be easier to deal with my heritage once I found him again. I thought I'd have someone I could relate to, and who'd understand how I felt....but that wasn't the case.

Eamin: *he shrugged slightly* I started this group in order to break the system. That system, is what's causing this, not us. It's not our fault we were born half-blood.

Seika: No, it isn't our fault we're half-blood.... *she looked at the sky, thinking of something Kaseel had told her* I once had a...friend. *she paused for a moment* Who told me that I dwelt on the matter too much, and that if I saw my heritage as a flaw then others would as well. But that if I learned to accept it and not feel ashamed of it then eventually others would come to accept it as well. *she snorted softly* But then he was always trying to improve how I saw myself.

Eamin: As I said, people have their own view on how Iukans should be, how Aweiens, Eyrdes, Yurtganens, we all have a set place and if we don't meet the standards, we are shed and cast out. Is that a kind of world you want to protect. *he was staring at her rather intently*

Seika: *her hands clenched into fists* I don't know! I just don't know anymore! It's what I was taught to do, it's all I've ever done! People have always told me what's right and what's wrong, and I never questioned them! I just did what I was told to do because that's how I was raised. And now I've turned my back on everything I was taught, and it's hard! I want to do the right thing, but I don't know what the right thing is anymore! Oh, people will tell me what they believe is right, but how do I know that it really is? How do I know where I'm really supposed to be?

Eamin: Everyone's own action is based on their personal experience or opinion. What I see as right is seen as wrong to others, who's opinion is different from mine. You have to find your own truth, or you'll just be walking around blindly like the rest of them. *he turned away* Training wasn't over, by the way.

Seika: *her eyes seemed to stare off into the distance, then she said softly* Yes...It is over. It's all over now. *there was a odd note in her voice, and it wasn't the training she was talking about being over. She glanced at him* I need some time to think....Training would be pointless when my mind is elsewhere. *she stood up* I'll come find you again when my thoughts have settled and I can focus properly again.

Eamin: *he turned back to her, an odd look in his face* I'm sorry, but that's not up to you. We don't have time to think.

Seika: *she tensed up and a look of defiance sparked in her mismatched eyes, she was about to say something she'd probably regret later when she felt something or rather someone in the back of her mind cautioning against it. She felt a cold weight settle inside her. He promised he'd stay away! Just go with him, came a slight whisper. She seemed to struggle with herself for a while, then closed her eyes and sighed, seeming to relax* Alright, fine...Whatever you say. *she opened her and focused on Eamin again* What else are we going to do?

Eamin: You haven't hit me yet. *he said watching her* Once you hit me, magic or sword, you can go.

Seika: Alright. I suppose that's fair. *she calmly started to head back towards where they'd been training earlier, but as she passed by him, she suddenly whirled around, striking him in the stomach with the pommel of her sword.*

Eamin: *he watched her, then knocked her arm to the side, stepping back quickly. He looked angry, but it was hard to tell from what*

Seika: *she stared at him, keeping her face expressionless. She felt Kaseel's presence in the back of her mind, warning her to be cautious and whispering 'Don't intentionally try to upset him, you're greatly outnumbered here.' She ignored the dragon, and called out challengingly* Well, come on and fight! *for some reason she wanted to test Eamin, to see what kind of warrior he really was. She drew her sword and stared at him intently* It's just me and you now. Prove to me here and now that you really are worthy of my respect and loyalty.

Eamin: *his frown slowly twisted into a smile, and he suddenly lunged forward, swinging his sword back it burst with electricity and he swung for her head*

Seika: *she ducked beneath his blow and sidestepped to the left. She swung at his side, fire arching from the tip of her sword. She could feel anxiety radiating from her unseen dragon, but she pushed it aside. She couldn't lose her focus, not now*

Eamin: *He put out his hand to block the blow and electricity burst against her sword. He spun to the side to slash at the back of her neck*

Seika: *she leaned forward to avoid the slash and once again made a small step to the left. Trying to get the sun at her back so he'd have to look into the bright light in order to face her. She sent several small lines of fire racing towards him, hoping it would help push him in the direction she wished him to go*

Eamin: *he did go in the direction she had hoped he would, and seeing the sun in his face, he stepped back, then threw himself at Seika, electricity sparking all around him*

Seika: *she created a shield of fire to protect herself, but didn't manage to get out of his way when he threw himself at her. She fell onto her back, losing her sword in the process, and struggled to keep the shield in place.*

Eamin: *His sword sparked with his power and he slammed it into her shield to break it*

Seika: *she could feel her shield wavering, threatening to break. It couldn't handle very many hits like that. She tried widening it enough so she could stand up, but to no avail. It was all she could do to keep it up at all right now*

Eamin: *he hit again, his power through the sword strengthening. It was hard to actually see him through all the fire and electricity*

Seika: *just when she felt that she couldn't keep up her shield any longer, she felt a wave of anger pulse through her from Kaseel and he growled, 'I've had enough of this!' Through her, he caused the fire to swell outwards, pushing against Eamin and shoving him back several yards away from her. 'Now get up and fight sensibly! You can't match him in brute strength or magic so stop trying! Or I'll come down there and shake you like a terrier would shake a dead rat!' She scrambled to her feet and grabbed her sword again, she didn't think that Kaseel's threat was an idle one.*

Eamin: *He fell back from the force, stumbling, then caught himself. He stopped, his sword at his side, his power died down, just staring at her. His eyes narrowed slightly* What was that?

Seika: *she looked down, embarrassed that Kaseel had stepped in for her* I'm sorry....I didn't know that would happen... I just....panicked...

Eamin: *he didn't say anything for a bit, then smiled* That didn't feel like your magic. But then, it did. Does that makes sense to you?

Seika: *she shook her head, pretending to be ignorant about it* Not really. *she shrugged* Maybe it's because I've never tried anything like that before? I've told you I don't know much about my magic yet. So I really don't know everything that I'm capable of.

Eamin: You are closer to Iukan than Eyrden, that's for sure. Your magic isn't like mine where it's a sort of mix. That was dragon magic. *he watched her expression to see how that would make her feel*

Seika: *she was careful not to show any emotion on her face, but slowly looked down at the ground* It's hardly surprising that I'm closer to Iukan...I didn't even know I was a mix of Iukan and Eyrden until I was seventeen. *she was irritated that Kaseel's intervention had been so easily noticed. He didn't seem at all sorry for it though*

Eamin: For one who can use that magic, it's surprising that that you would be rejected a dragon. *He smiled at her* What a messed up system, hmm? *he put his sword back in its sheath* We're done now. Go find your brother and get something to eat. We gather during dinner to talk about this and that. You'll be able to meet the rest of us.

Seika: *she didn't look to thrilled about meeting anyone, but she nodded* Alright.... *she turned and headed back in the direction she'd come from. Knowing she'd probably have to drag her brother away from whatever poor soul he'd decided to pester with his optimistic chatter*

Eamin: *he watched her leave, then turned to start the gathering*

*Seika soon located her brother and tried to slip away to avoid being part of any group, but Zephyr dragged her along to where the others were gathering anyways. So she sat off on her own, trying to ignore everyone else around her*

*Eamin was seen going here and there through the group, talking and laughing with everyone. Mino was watching both Seika and Zephyr with a couple Minotaurs behind her. Once the food was passed around, Eamin sat next to the twins*
Eamin: So. How was your first day? *he smiled at them, clearly knowing how Seika's went*

Seika: *she had her eyes closed, silently conversing with Kaseel who had found a secluded spot nearby to hide in. Her food sat next to her, untouched. She cracked open her yellow-orange eye and glanced at Eamin. She said flatly.* You know perfectly well how mine went. *she closed her eye again and seemed to be ignoring him*
Zephyr: *unlike his sister, he smiled and said cheerily* Mine was pretty good. *he glanced at Seika* And I think she enjoyed her day as well...maybe? She hasn't said much about it. *he nudged her gently and smiled at Eamin* So tell me, what did you think of having to spend the day with my big sister? I hope she didn't cause you too much trouble.

Eamin: *he smiled back at Zephyr* Oh she was the worst. But I did quite enjoy myself, she almost gave me a run for my money. *he smirked at Seika* But not quite.

Zephyr: *he said jokingly* And here I thought she'd make some new friends today. Still, I suppose I shouldn't expect such miracles on the first day. *he lowered his voice and leaned toward Eamin* I hope you don't take her attitude too personally. She's...had a lot to deal with recently. It's not a very good excuse, I know. But if you're patient with her and just keep bugging her, she'll warm up to you eventually. Her loyalty is hard to win, but well worth the effort. Unless I'm mighty mistaken, she'll be a really great warrior some day. And I'm not just saying that because she's my sister.

Eamin: *he smiled* Oh I have no doubt she's an excellent warrior. I need more like her. *he looked at him* I asked her, and now I'm asking you, why are you here? Did you feel the same as her with the Eyrdens?

Zephyr: *he looked down, a thoughtful expression on his face. After a moment he sighed and rubbed the back of his head* ...No, I didn't feel the same as she did. *he gave her an uneasy look, unsure of how she'd react to what he was going to say* Seika and I...had two very different upbringings, and our personalities are very different from each other. You ask why I'm here? Because I feel I am more needed here, and it is my job to go where I'm needed most. And because I nearly lost my sister once already, and the thought of losing her again was....really scary. It took me nearly twenty-six years to find her, and I wasn't about to let her leave to parts unknown all by herself. I can honestly say, I don't regret coming with her either.
Seika: *she shifted uncomfortably, but didn't say anything.*

Eamin: Very noble of you. But coming here has put a bounty on both your heads. *he shrugged slightly* You can never go back. Ever. You both are prepared for that?

Seika: If that's the way it is...So be it. I know what I've done, and of the consequences it will have.... *she felt Kaseel's worry in the back of her mind. 'And if you don't succeed in this mission of yours', how will you explain this all to your superiors? You didn't even have their permission to come here. You should have told- '. She groaned and pressed her fingers against her temples as he went on*
Zephyr: *he looked at her* Seika? What's wrong?
Seika: Nothing. Just a ...really annoying headache...

Eamin: *he watched her* We live a hard life. And you need to get along with minotaurs. Centaurs too, if we're lucky.

Seika: *she rolled her eyes* I'll tolerate them, but that's about as close to 'getting along with them' as I'll go.
Zephyr: *he smiled and said jokingly* And how is that any different than normal? You don't even get along well with most elves. Who knows? Maybe you could get along with minotaurs better than you do us.
Seika: *she gave her brother an unamused look* Enough with the teasing. I'm not in the mood...
Zephyr: You never are. That's why I tease you anyways.
