Description
This is the first in a series of four characters I will be soon developing as a little creator owned project mostly for fun.
This is Sable Night who will be a darker/goth/steampunk inspired character. I'm still in the early development stages of establishing personality and tone but I think it would be fun if she was kind of like the bitchy easily annoyed character to clash with the bright bubbly look of the other three girls.
Anyhow, this image will debut as a print during Phoenix Comicon 2012 and I'm rather anxious to see how people respond to this. The poses for these four prints were heavily inspired and deliberately intended to pay homage to a true pin-up art great, Gil Elvgren

Haha. Nah, I'm not going to make the girls strippers even though I like the idea. Yeah, the tails and ears will most likely be fake but I'm bouncing back and forth on whether or not they will be "real" or costume accessories.

whoa i remember seeing this on a livestream, couldn't stay long thou cuz i had to go out. This looks awesome, wish i could have stayed longer to watch it get colored. They did a really awesome job.

do you use pose reference books or do it or come up with your own thoughts.
I find it more challenging not to use photo references because of lighting and shadow placement. I notice a drop in views and faves when I draw from my head
