Description
A pic of one of the most impressive land-predators that lived before the dinosaurs appeared: The GorgonopsidsThis strange reptiles were actually closely related to mammals and were the first predators to sport saber teeth.
The Gorgonopsids lived from the mid to late Permian (270 - 250 million years ago) in what is now Africa and Russia and varied from 30 cm long dwarfs to 5 meter long super predators. The larger species mostly fed on large herbivores such as Scutosaurus.
Even though the Gorgonopsids only got to be well-known to the common public a few years ago with their appearances in Walking with Monsters and Primeval, that doesn't make them any less impressive then the better known T-Rex, Raptors or sabertoothed cats
I hope you guys like this pic ^___^

For some reason, this design looks like it came from Disney
Strange idea if they ever made a hand-drawn film focusing in Late Permian South Africa or Russia

If I could go back in time, I'd travel to the Permian.
Cool pic.
