I wrote a little story to go alongside the images, enjoy!
Panel 1: ‘March’
Dean, a successful editorial model, with a physique a lot of men would kill to have or be with, just found out his beloved gyms were closing due to the pandemic. He reassures himself that as long as he sticks to his strict diet and works out from home, he shouldn’t lose any muscle mass and stick to his current weight, right?
Panel 2: ‘May’
If only Dean did not speak so soon. Only a week into lockdown, his partner of 3 years abruptly ended their relationship, shattering Deans spirit and drive to maintain his healthy lifestyle. One thing led to another, and he instead adopted the lifestyle of a compulsive eater and binger, losing a great portion of his muscle weight, and obtaining a sizeable deal of fat in its place. He again reassures himself that this is just a bump in the road, and that hell get back to his normal self.
Panel 3: ‘July’
As Dean looks himself over in the mirror for the hundredth time that day, he realises… he likes what his grown into. He found happiness and pleasure in his new substantial body and longer facial hair. He thinks maybe he’d be open to gaining more, but this time, intentionally!
