This is one of my favorites from the recent cat-e-go-ries selection . That expression is PRICELESS, and when I say that, I really mean that too. It's crazy that this hasn't got more attention. In the genre of emotive portraits that feature children, this is exceptional. I'm not really sure why, but it seems to depict her in a way that is characteristic to adults. It's not sadness to my eyes.
The lighting is perfect. Is it natural..? The contrast here is awesome as well; between the teddy and her dress particularly. The wooden background is a nice touch, very much my taste.

I guess that's why she looks so happy! (not)
Though the position of the teddy bear in line with her sleeve creates an annoying regularity that seems most unnatural to the eye (although it's real) it is a great work with an excelent brightness/contrast balance! Well done

Despite that the girl is really adorable, it looks really sad. Good idea with thaese wooden background.
