Description
Centuries ago, Valoria was a realm where the rugged landscapes echoed with the calls of werewolves, symbols of wildness and independence. They safeguarded the lands from threats both seen and unseen, ensuring harmony and order. As they prowled the woods and hills, the werewolves commanded respect and reverence from the humans they occasionally crossed paths with. But as the wheel of time turned, Valoria underwent a transformation. Cities of stone and metal sprawled across the once pristine lands. Forests were replaced with organized plantations, and rivers were bridged and dammed. With these rapid changes, the delicate symbiosis between man and werewolf began to fray.
The humans, now growing in both number and ambition, eyed the werewolves with a mix of awe and apprehension. The raw power and lawlessness of the werewolves were seen as a threat to the emerging order of urban Valoria.
Leaders amongst men, blinded by a mix of fear and greed, sought to harness and control this wild power for their own ends. They devised strategies to subdue and control the werewolves, using cunning traps, potent spells, and sheer force.
Tensions escalated into full-blown conflicts. Packs of werewolves, fiercely protective of their freedom, lashed out against the encroachments. Valoria was plunged into chaos, its nights filled with the roars of werewolves and the cries of men.
The most catastrophic event, still sung of in hushed tones, was the Night of Unleashed Frenzy. On this night, werewolves from every corner of Valoria converged in a coordinated assault on the central city. Their unleashed rage was a force of nature, tearing down walls and reducing structures to rubble.
In the wake of this destruction, a desperate decision was made by the city's remaining sorcerers. They combined their powers in a last-ditch effort to contain the werewolf threat. Casting a spell of immense magnitude, they chose a lone werewolf, the fiercest and most defiant of them all, and bound him in stone, hoping his petrified form would serve both as a warning to others and as a symbol of man's dominance.
The spell worked, but not in the way the sorcerers intended. Instead of breaking the spirits of the werewolves, it ignited a burning fury within them. But recognizing the growing might of mankind and the futility of their assaults, the werewolves retreated into the shadowy recesses of Valoria, biding their time.
The stone werewolf, meanwhile, became a focal point in the central city. While to most he was a statue, a relic of a bygone era, whispers persisted that inside the stone prison, the heart of the werewolf still beat, filled with pent-up rage, waiting for the moment to be unleashed once more.
