I illustrated this piece when I was in a bit of a rough spot. I felt as if I had all these negative emotions that I just couldn't release, so I wanted to visualize what that would look like since I couldn't quite do it myself. The figure in the bottom right remains in the light space while they scream into a darker void, with the separation of the two contrasting values marked by the butterfly and some light outlines of flowers. I really enjoy the simplicity of it; I feel like it's readable and may be easy for others to find something in it as well!
