Well... this is a lot.

Fun fact: This is the longest MLP-related art I've (probably) worked on (at least recently). This took me... ahem. 4 hours (with an hour break) to draw. Yes. This wasn't even counting the twikids. The twikids were drawn a day or two before the others, and I'm sure the twikids took an hour to draw. So, in total, it took me... 5 FREAKING HOURS TO DRAW THESE HORSES.

I know that most artists take more time, so I apologize for being surprised! I just... didn't expect this thing to take the longest out of all my art. Though, to be honest, I don't think time really matters to art. To me, what matters is the result. And the result of this? It's pretty great! At least in my opinion.

Another fun fact: The Spitdash and Pokeypie kids actually have never been designed! Yeah, they're the only next gen here to have never been designed, just only concieved.

Yeah.... Here. There's another that's missing here. It's just that, the said next gen wasn't grouped with a mane six, which is the only next gen to not even have a mane six. It's a Twidash next gen. I'll get around to drawing them eventually, not now though.

Why am I suddenly talking about the past? Well, I usually do this every start of the year. I just like looking at the past before I'm going forward for the future!

Sorry if nobody is aligned to each other. I'll fix it. Otherwise, buckle up for the following description... because it'll list everyone here. I'll not describe the Twikids though. They've already got their spotlight here and here . If you want to know why I made all of these, it's explained here . Oh yeah! And this is actually based off of this image , excluding the most recent three next gens.

Next Gen #1 (from 2016):

Description, Notes and/or Thoughts about it:
This next gen focuses on Twilight's daughter, Twinkle Sparkle, and her journey into high-class royalty along with her friends. Now, I'm grateful for this next gen's existence. It's literally the first and it's what made me get into next gens and improve myself! If I didn't create this next gen, then I don't know what to do. Otherwise, it's generally fine about this next gen. It's extremely outdated if you can't tell!

Apple Light (Applejack x Caramel)(The daughter of Applejack and Caramel, she's diligent and extremely strong)

Rainbow Candy (Pinkie Pie x Cheese Sandwich)(Being energetic, she's into the party life and loud!)

Next Gen #2 (from 2017-2018?):

Description, Notes and/or Thoughts about it:
This one's a doozy. So, this is about Twilight's daughters, Crystal and Aurora Sparkle. They overcome struggles and conflicts that their mom left for them (wow, that's like one of steven universe's conflict...). Of course, the magic of friendship helps them overcome said struggles. Yay.

This is actually the first edgy next gen I made. The others are Violet and Stellar's, though I guess you can count Eclipse's too. Though this is also the first one where I had genuine passion for. Unfortunately, old files got deleted but I've made many art about them! I had the most fun with the non-twikids of this next gen though. They're genuinely funny from what I remember! It's sad that the other next gens are sorta not the same way... until recently.

Tornado (Rainbow Dash x Soarin)(He's been in the Wonderbolts from day one, thus his flying skills are incredible.)
Spikey Gem (Rarity x Spike)(Rarity does often criticize his fashion sense, which is nonexistent sometimes. He's often seen reading newspaper or eating cookies, like his grandparents.)

Next Gen #3 (in 2017; experimental):

Description, Notes and/or Thoughts about it:
Wow, I wish I knew something about this next gen. Yup. The creator of this next gen doesn't even know what's going on in it. You see, this next gen was extremely experimental; you can tell by the designs and the ships. What I like about this next gen is that it's pretty unique compared to my other ones. Not only the ships and strange designs but also the plot (from memory) and personalities of everyone.

From what I remember, the plot is about Harmony living the life of a ruler after his mother lives with Discord in the chaos realm (i forgot the name of that realm). It makes no sense, yet, it sounds so fun if it's actually finished! It's obvious that this next gen is incomplete. I literally didn't design the Pinkie and RD of this next gen, just only came up with them. I like Harmony the most though (gee why do i like the male twikids a lot?). He's the first and only male Twikid I made for a long time (before shinelight came to the scene) and he's the only non-Flashlight and Cometlight (is that the ship name?) next gen I ever made! Kudos to you, Harmony and younger Cookie.

Ahh. The OG next gen of this account before it changed to the current one! Oldies will know this one. There's actually no plot in this series. It's just... a series of events going on. That's it, really. At least I don't remember an exact plot of this series.

Now... I want to admit a little something. I actually don't really like this next gen. That's why I even ditched it like a bad friend. Look, I know it was the icon (literally) of this account. But... man. I dislike a lot of stuff from this next gen. Down from the plot to the superficial characters. I don't even know how this attracted any viewers in deviantart! I don't absolutely hate it from the bottom of my heart. I'm grateful for it like my first next gen, even more than that. It's literally what made this account... this account. Other than that, though, Dusky's next gen has nothing to go for it. I'm sorry... or not sorry. I've just changed as a person.

OH NO. EDGY 11 YEAR OLD COOKIE MADE THIS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Uh. Sorry about that. I was just... remembering stuff.

At least this one has an actual plot. Ahem. Oh. It's just the second next gen... just with better designs and edgier plots. Amazing. What I absolutely hate about this next gen is that the other characters... HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING GOING FOR THEM! Geez, 11 year old Cookie, at least Dusky's other characters has something going for them. Everyone except Violet and Glitter? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Null. Blank. They're blank slates. Yes, they do have their moments, but they legit are just their moms but different designs. I'll carry on from this dumb next gen. No wonder why this only lasted for summer.

Next Gen #6 (in late-2019):

Description, Notes and/or Thoughts about it:
This was actually created a couple of weeks after the release of the finale. Sad times. I actually love this next gen! It's really unique like the third next gen, except it's completed! And hey, the other characters got something going for them! I think I learnt my lesson from the last next gen.

I think the most unique thing is Apple Gold and Dashing Apple. When I told my friend, Moonlight Sorbet, about them, he got excited (im sure he was) since he wasn't straight. It's weird for me to make up non-straight next gens to him, so yeah. I can't say much about him since, well, I'm not him! Just a friend.

As for the others, they're good too! I don't know why I made a Twilight x Comet next gen though. This is actually my first one if you couldn't tell. It's also the first unicorn and the first female one without a sibling (female because harmony doesn't have a sibling). And the plot? It's just about Comet Way finding her destiny as the future ruler of Equestria. Damn, are the two most recent next gens the only ones with an actual story and not just a generic plot? I knew I went through character development.

That was random. Well, if you can't tell... The Twikid here doesn't have a clear name. I interchangeably use Iris and Eclipse. Her original name was Eclipse but her current (and better) one is Iris, so yeah. I'll continue to use the name Iris here.

So, this series is about, woop-dee-do, like the other ones. Iris becoming a ruler. Why have I returned to normality? Oh! Oh! But there's something different! Younger Cookie said. What is it? Iris has a sister who's not a Flashlight kid. Gasp! It's a Cometlight kid! Oh! And she has an abused sister and-and a younger sister who does absolutely nothing to do the plot! What about the other characters? Sigh. They do nothing. Can we move on to the next one?

Fun fact: When I first introduced the next gen to the public, I promised it to be a comedy series. Hahahahahahahahaha. Look at I made myself do. If you want the exact line, then read this: "Now, I know this is full of stereotypes... But! It's pretty much more comedic and more meta with a lil bit of drama, just like My Lil Filly". See? Also, I'm surprised that I had better punctuation back in 2020. I thought I developed better punctuation in, like, 2021 or last year.

Oh. My. God.

A next gen with an actual plot! Finally! I've actually turned 12 right when I ditched this next gen, so yeah. I'm 15 currently. So, what's this plot? Well, it's about Stellar learning how to be a ruler while accepting friendship as she's introverted and serious. However, this acceptance got interrupted by a traumatic Ursa Major accident that almost turned her blind. After that, she starts to learn the true meaning of life and friendship.

Deep, I know. To be serious, I'm just glad a next gen finally has a stable plot and not just "wow im becoming a ruler. oh no evil comes. haha i defeat with friendship. FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC BABYYYY". This is more apparent in the next next gen though. Otherwise, I'm fine with the characters here. They're different enough from their parents, so I'll give them points for that and give points to 12 year old Cookie!

Description, Notes and/or Thoughts about it:
One year later, this was created. That was the longest gap between each next gen's creations by the way. You folks already know them! I'll summarize it though. This next gen is about Twilight's son, Shinelight Sparkle. He's known as narcissistic, which makes him a crappy pony. His sister, on the other hand, is known as the "perfect pony", which is perfect for the future ruler of Equestria. This angers Shinelight and causes him to envy his sister, since he's always wanted to be the ruler of Equestria. Meanwhile, their friends (who were forced to be their friends) go through wacky hijinks while understanding Twilight's children and growing closer to each other. Learning the true meaning of friendship.

Uh. That got long. Basically, Twilight's son get jealous of his sister and their friends are wacky. I want to speak on a matter now...

This is probably my last next gen ever. Probably. I'll not guarantee it. Maybe I'll make another in the future, but for now... this'll be the last for the distant future. I just made way too much and it's really draining my health and energy. I've already gotten into Pokémon, other MLP projects and other franchises, so yeah. Not only that, but I just think this next gen is good enough for me. I've reached my standards and expectations. I've loved creating and talking about this next gen unlike the other ones. It's really special. That'll be all.

I think the most unique thing is Apple Gold and Dashing Apple. When I told my friend, Moonlight Sorbet, about them, he got excited (im sure he was) since he wasn't straight. It's weird for me to make up non-straight next gens to him, so yeah. I can't say much about him since, well, I'm not him! Just a friend.

As for the others, they're good too! I don't know why I made a Twilight x Comet next gen though. This is actually my first one if you couldn't tell. It's also the first unicorn and the first female one without a sibling (female because harmony doesn't have a sibling). And the plot? It's just about Comet Way finding her destiny as the future ruler of Equestria. Damn, are the two most recent next gens the only ones with an actual story and not just a generic plot? I knew I went through character development.

That was random. Well, if you can't tell... The Twikid here doesn't have a clear name. I interchangeably use Iris and Eclipse. Her original name was Eclipse but her current (and better) one is Iris, so yeah. I'll continue to use the name Iris here.

So, this series is about, woop-dee-do, like the other ones. Iris becoming a ruler. Why have I returned to normality? Oh! Oh! But there's something different! Younger Cookie said. What is it? Iris has a sister who's not a Flashlight kid. Gasp! It's a Cometlight kid! Oh! And she has an abused sister and-and a younger sister who does absolutely nothing to do the plot! What about the other characters? Sigh. They do nothing. Can we move on to the next one?

Fun fact: When I first introduced the next gen to the public, I promised it to be a comedy series. Hahahahahahahahaha. Look at I made myself do. If you want the exact line, then read this: "Now, I know this is full of stereotypes... But! It's pretty much more comedic and more meta with a lil bit of drama, just like My Lil Filly". See? Also, I'm surprised that I had better punctuation back in 2020. I thought I developed better punctuation in, like, 2021 or last year.

Oh. My. God.

A next gen with an actual plot! Finally! I've actually turned 12 right when I ditched this next gen, so yeah. I'm 15 currently. So, what's this plot? Well, it's about Stellar learning how to be a ruler while accepting friendship as she's introverted and serious. However, this acceptance got interrupted by a traumatic Ursa Major accident that almost turned her blind. After that, she starts to learn the true meaning of life and friendship.

Deep, I know. To be serious, I'm just glad a next gen finally has a stable plot and not just "wow im becoming a ruler. oh no evil comes. haha i defeat with friendship. FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC BABYYYY". This is more apparent in the next next gen though. Otherwise, I'm fine with the characters here. They're different enough from their parents, so I'll give them points for that and give points to 12 year old Cookie!

Next Gen #9 (from late-2021-present):

Description, Notes and/or Thoughts about it:
One year later, this was created. That was the longest gap between each next gen's creations by the way. You folks already know them! I'll summarize it though. This next gen is about Twilight's son, Shinelight Sparkle. He's known as narcissistic, which makes him a crappy pony. His sister, on the other hand, is known as the "perfect pony", which is perfect for the future ruler of Equestria. This angers Shinelight and causes him to envy his sister, since he's always wanted to be the ruler of Equestria. Meanwhile, their friends (who were forced to be their friends) go through wacky hijinks while understanding Twilight's children and growing closer to each other. Learning the true meaning of friendship.

Uh. That got long. Basically, Twilight's son get jealous of his sister and their friends are wacky. I want to speak on a matter now...

This is probably my last next gen ever. Probably. I'll not guarantee it. Maybe I'll make another in the future, but for now... this'll be the last for the distant future. I just made way too much and it's really draining my health and energy. I've already gotten into Pokémon, other MLP projects and other franchises, so yeah. Not only that, but I just think this next gen is good enough for me. I've reached my standards and expectations. I've loved creating and talking about this next gen unlike the other ones. It's really special. That'll be all.
