My take on the iconic Starfleet uniforms of the TNG era.

This one follows the style and pattern of the uniforms as seen from the mid 3rd season onwards. There are a few minor details that changed over the time - speaking of this version only, with standing collar and as a two-piece variant, not the early apndex super-tight onesies - like the pattern cosntruction and the overall fit (I bet no one notices who isn't into costume design themselves )

It's not perfect - in the sense of "perfect-perfect" - first of all, the pattern has some minor mistakes, but I have to admit that the pattern construction was done several years ago, as well as sewing together the first parts for this prototype, then I left it aside and almost forgot about it. Like I said, it was basically a prototype and a test if my pattern construction would look right if I made the uniform, finally. I later used that for a customer's uniform, but in a different size.

I never intended to make it for myself, so I chose a standard sized basic pattern, not one that is made to my own. That means it doesn't fit - well - perfectly - it's a bit too tight on shoulders and upper arms, and that's why I didn't attach the padding that was used on the original uniforms as well. That means it lacks the typical early 90ies box-y shape, but I might do a second version - somewhat after I made the "First Contact" uniform, which I initially wanted to go with.

On the other hand, leaving it in the box, unfinished, would have been a shame as well. As long as I don't start a fight with some Klingons, it should be pretty wearable at conventions.

I only made a few pictures to show the uniform off in it's finished state - this is not the full cosplay yet. I'm planning to do Data - so stay tuned for some pictures with full make-up and stuff
