Well, I stand by my previous statement. Not all ecchi are bad in fact some of them are absolute joys to sit through and not just for the tits and ass (though they are a nice touch). Ikkitousen is one such treasure in that regard.

Okay so Season 1 is kind of rough around the edges animation-wise, but it's still an absolute delight to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed the bit where it's revealed Toutaku the show's antagonist literally marked Hakufu for death just to get her to off his main squeeze. Saji was also a pretty detestable villain and IDK how I felt about him being let off so easy (then again he was going to off himself and Hakufu stopped him so...).

Season 2 is where things pick up a bit as we get to know more about the other schools, namely Seito as it had Kanu who we saw singlehandedly whoop the asses of both Ryomou and Hakufu with a broken arm. Yeah it's safe to say Kanu is my favorite character of all time. It also helps that the lore is expanded upon a bit and the animation is much cleaner and more polished. Definitely a welcome change. The action is a still a bit stiff, but I still enjoyed the majority of the fights.

Season 3 drops a bit, but is still solid for the most part. It also introduces two characters in Sonken Chubou and Genpou Saji (yep another one this time a loli ). Chubou IMO is kinda bland and I have the same problem with her that I did with Zoé from Miraculous in that she's just too perfect. Especially when she gets compared to the buffoonish Hakufu. Saji on the other hand was pretty cool and watching her prey on the insecurities of the girls was brilliant.

Season 4 then pulled out all the stops. The action was top notch, the comedy hit in every way it could, and we get introduced to yet another new character in Bachou Mouki who is an absolute treat and a welcome addition to the show. Plus we get a really intense battle with Kanu and Ryomou (my two favorites) and the introduction of Moyu and Mokaku who are pretty badass as well.

Ikkitousen does an AMAZING job balancing smut with plot in a way not many other ecchi can do. Kind of odd to say aloud, but it's true. And it's surprisingly popular give it a watch. I still have the OVAs to get through but I will gladly watch.
