Recently I've purchased my own copy of Atmosfear. For those who don't know, Atmosfear is a board game that came out in the 90s. It originated from Australia and was sent to the U.S under the name "Nightmare". This wasn't your typical board game. It comes with a VHS tape to put in while you play the game, and every once in a while, your host, The Gatekeeper will pop up. It spawned any sequels after the success. The latest being released this year. Although the latest version looks like they took the 2004 version, and slap the new logo and Gatekeeper on it, and called it a day. Anyway I thought to myself, how come no one made a movie about it? It was pretty popular back then. So they kinda missed an opportunity to make an Atmosfear movie. Well there was an unreleased Super Nintendo game of Atmosfear, but that's it. So I decided to draw my own interpretation of an Atmosfear movie. Directed by my favorite director, Tim Burton. This seems like something that would work. We know he directed Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Alice through the looking glass, Dumbo, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Frankenweenie, but never a movie based on a board game. Luckily this board game just so happened to be horror themed; something that would be up his alley. My casting for The Gatekeeper would be Johnny Depp. I would have Christopher Lee in this, but you know. 💀.
