- Joyce pretends that he named himself “Paranon”. In fact, when asked his name, he had no answer; he just quailed, stuttering in terror. Finally, Tina asked him if he was a coward, or just paranoid they’d hurt him? In response he said “Para…? Para-pa-n-no, no… don’t hurt me…”
- Lives in a constant state of terror, too fearful to manage to finish a sentence.
- He only calms in the presence of Pokémon with scent-based moves. Or Sweet Pea, who always smells like Sweet Scent. Even then he cannot stutter out a full sentence, but may be able to make himself understood.
