Poach's Survey Project

Villagers

Paradia

------

The polterpup sat across from the villager that was seeking help. He saw the ad in town on the task board, needing some help cleaning a clogged filter. Sure, he has paws and the pretty red nails for the job! As he sat, and tried his best to listen to the troubled raider in front of him, he heard an annoyed.

"Are you even listening to me right now?" Ring through his head. The hive mind, right.

"Yeah! Yeah, sorry, My Oh My." The white lie slipped past his lips, as he glanced towards the item of interest off to the side of the table.

"Just need to unclog this, and you'll be breathing the fresh air in your standard, easy!"

The silence made it easy to tell that the raider must have been rolling his eyes at him, Paradia accepted that fate as he reached out to take the filter in his paws. Lifting it up, then turning it all around to inspect it.

It looked, fine? The dog got himself into some trouble with this one. With a faint chuckle, he nodded to himself. He could do this, it was going to be so easy. He shifted over the table, grabbing a napkin and his water bottle. Pouring a third of the bottle on the filter before starting to scrub and rub away at the supposed grime on the thing. However, he heard a scoff from across the table, followed by fins tapping the hard wood.

"You don't know how to get it working again, do you?"
Huh? Paradia's eye glanced up towards the raider, then to the filter resting in-between his paws and the wet napkin.

"This is the right way?"

"No, it's not. It's CLOGGED, not filthy like you. Anyone with a pair of working eyes can tell."

"..."

The silence filled the air as the two raiders stared at one another.

"Wow, that's a bit far…" Paradia mumbled as he turned his gaze to his paws.
Now on a mission to get it open and remove stuff? The other didn't open his mouth, no words. No apology, just silence with an occasional sniffle from them.

As they tried to get some much-needed air. Leaving the dog to figure out the issue on his own. So all he had to do was open it, and remove whatever was making a blockage in it, right? Tilting his head to the side, the dog started to press on the edges of the device with his nails.

It was a no-go. But there wasn't anywhere else to open it? So again, pressing his nails harder on the sides, trying to pry something open. It was getting close to opening, he just knew it! One last ounce of force and bingo!

However, instead, a loud sharp CRACKLE came from the special filter. The two raider's eyes widened in horror as they both watched the broken filter start to seep liquids out of it. Down through his paws. Dripping. Splattering on the table below. With a furious raider before him, Paradia offered a soft smile as he spoke.

"I'll buy you a new one?"
