It's 'Way Back Wednesday' and today we go back to Christmas 2015 with an anniversary card for my wife.
When I took my wife to see Guardians Of The Galaxy she had no idea what to expect and I didn't give her any clues. She loved the movie and was really drawn to the character of Rocket.
NOTE: For all those of you who have seen Infinity War - NO SPOILERS on here please. Keep that you your own pages okay! I had to remove spoilers from the Baby Groot picture on Monday. All spoilers will be blocked until after the 13th. By then, folks should've seen Infinity War by then.
Done with polychromos pencils and built up in layers, utilising my pressure application and layering techniques, the picture consists of 23 colours.
Rocket was done by layering washes of the lighter browns, detailing the fur with the dark ones and then washing layers on top. It was done with ivory, dark sepia, nougat, burnt ochre (light), warm grey 3 and burnt umber.
His clothes were done with white, dark sepia, walnut brown, raw umber, burnt ochre (light), black, cold grey 6, warm grey 2 and warm grey 6.
His B.F.G. was done with white, ivory, night green, caput mortuum, walnut brown, Payne's grey, burnt ochre (light), black, cold grey 6, warm grey 2, warm grey 4 and warm grey 6.
The unfocused people in the background were done with ivory, light flesh, caput mortuum, walnut brown, raw umber, burnt ochre (light), warm grey 2, warm grey 4, warm grey 5 and warm grey 6.
Finally, the unfocused background was just washed layers built up and up until they reached the desired effect. They were done with white, light phthalo blue, night green, caput mortuum, earth green, walnut brown, nougat, raw umber, cold grey 2, cold grey 6, warm grey 2 and burnt umber.

Completion time: 77 hours, 36 minutes
Original image: Guardians Of The Galaxy

I didn't do 'from my desk' shots back then but here's the framed image before it was given.

Sometimes I really have trouble telling you art apart from actual photos. You have such an incredible realistic style.

And that is the essence of realism
The background, gun and fur give it away really, the details are nowhere as sharp as they are in the film but it was still a fin project.
The envelope had text on with a GOTG based joke as well.
