PERMISSION FIRST!!!WOW! I was stunned when Donatello failed to save April. But surprisingly, she didn't turn and she is of course mutant already due to she is part mutant... or Kraang... or whatever. I can't keep up plots. XD
Anyhoo, I drew this to see what she look like as a turtle since she fell and the last thing she touch is Donnie.
PS - Don't judge me about her legs. I know I screw up. Nobody is perfect.

This makes more sense than what actually happened in the episode; I mean really, immunity to mutagen? Could you get any Mary Sue-ier? (Nothing against April, she's an awesome girl, but this particular plot point is too unrealistic given what the show has already established about the mutagen and its effects on biological beings.)

The reason why she is immune to mutagen is because her mother was experimented on by the Kraang, therefore April was already a mutant.

My problem is you're being rude, whether you mean to be or not. As for April, I prefer it when she's the turtles' HUMAN friend; I still like TMNT, I just think making April a mutant was overkill.

I don't conform to your opinion. As for April, I think it's a unique twist that she's a mutant. Plus in some other TMNT series, she was mutated several times. So here, it's no different. Β

Because April has been shown to be flawless. It's not like she put all the blame for her father getting mutated all on the Turtles in a fit of anger, or that she's never been able to beat Karai one-on-one, one has shown too much eagerness to use fists to solve her problems at times, or led the Kraang RIGHT TO THE TURTLES' HOME.

But flawless characters are boring (unless their omnipotent gods/goddesses and even then they're still a little dull). Of course she never beat Karai; years of training vs only a few months, the winner is obvious. As for leading the Kraang right to the lair, come on, be honest, how many people can honestly say they saw the Irma plot twist coming? I sure didn't.

Oh, and in hindsight, I'm sure older fans who remember the 1987 episode Turtle Terminator weren't all that surprised. "Turtles! Turtles! Turtles!"

The fact that the highly effective mutagen, of which even the tiniest drop of can cause horrific changes to an organism's DNA, doesn'tΒ affect April in the slightest, despite her being fully submerged in it. It just seems too unlikely and feels like the writers wantedΒ to make the audience emotional but didn't want to deal with the actual aftermath of aΒ main character being exposed to the mutagen. I feel like they were lazy and to a shortcut.Β

-shrugs- ask the writer, her hands mutated into other snake heads, maybe it was to play on the "Yamata no Orochi" a Gigantic white Multi-headed Snake Demon in Japanese folklore? Maybe it was to add to how much it messes with splinter's head that she was Mutated to begin with, not sure :/

I think Donnie would be hesitant but keep in mind that April's blood is the SOURCE of Anti-Mutagen. If she was mutated, that means her blood mutated as well, making the ability to create Anti-Mutagen impossible.
