Hahahaha! Indeed! I think they used the same coffee cup stock as I did! What a coincidence! Pretty funny xD
Thx for sharing^^

Okay, can I edit the header?? I write 'I Support' in my journal not 'CSS Support' like you did. Check my newest journal!!

You can edit any content you'd like and even remove topmenu, sidebar or feature box if you wish. There are some useful info in the skin description, including extras for this skin that require some specific html coding.

"CSS Support" in that case stands for "CSS Technical Support". It's a link to send me a note with CSS related questions and I don't expect any user to keep that in there

PS: Checked your journal. You did great job! Very few users manage to edit the header and footer without damaging the hole code ^___^

Thank you for the permission and your critique too

I just particularly lazy to make my own journal skins. Hope I can make my own journal skin like you do.

For the "CSS Support", I never think that was abbreviation of "CSS Technical Support"

Starke-Haz In reply to Stradievarie [2009-11-11 16:52:53 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it was not a header, but actually, a link to the message center. If you hover it with your mouse, it changes color indicating it is a link and if you click, you'll send me a message
You may remove the link if you want and replace it for regular text.

If you are not familiar to html, just erase this from the sidebar:
I support
and replace it for plain text "I support"

I know that. Thanks for sharing, you inspired me in order to build my own journal skin. I will do it in my own. Check this out:[link]

Give me your opinion, so that I can make better journal skins.

I think there are many mistake in my first journal skin

Sorry for the "if you are not familiar with html" part, but it's just because that's the usual standard. People install the skins but don't have a clue of html
Anyways, I liked your template. It has a nice feel to it. And the theme is pretty cool!

No problem. Thanks also for spent your time to see my own journal skin

Starke-Haz In reply to Stradievarie [2009-11-12 01:31:36 +0000 UTC]

Np! But I think you should base yourself in someone elses's code instead of mine cause that coffee css has variable width and your layout idea requires a fixed width with centered image to work fine in different monitor resolutions. Here in my house it looks a bit off, specially when you go to the journal page instead of your frontpage.

Try adapting different layout schemes (with the respective owners permission, of course!) and you'll learn a lot of css. That's how I did at first and now I'm able to start my own codes from sketch ^___^
(and they usually work better that way then when adapted from other layouts).

Oh My God! You have just fulfilled my journal dreams! Actually, you have captured what my real journal ends up looking like. My coffee cup sitting to the side, a few drops here and there, and a few ink splotches I carelessly leave in my rush to jot down my random thought! It's perfect, thank you!

I really love this skin! Thanks so much for making it.

One question: is it possible for me to make the body text of my journal entries darker? Right now it's blending in with the lovely coffee stains lol.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Starke-Haz In reply to foxybcosplay [2009-11-10 18:00:51 +0000 UTC]

Stupid text editor... it took away my html codes! hahaha
Well, let's try again:

1)< p>YOUR HEADING

2)YOUR TEXT

Ps:There's no space between < and p. I had to add it to prevent it from showing <

foxybcosplay In reply to Starke-Haz [2009-11-10 18:22:01 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a bunch! I did notice on yours that the heading helped by bumping everything down a bit. I will do that for now.

Thank you so so much! All of the additional HTML is v helpful too. <3

Starke-Haz In reply to foxybcosplay [2009-11-11 16:46:14 +0000 UTC]

Np! It was a very pertinet suggestion and I think it added a nice look to the 2.2 version^^ Overall, I've received great suggestions and tried to put the most important ones in this new release.

The biggest one is that now, you don't even need to place the content div in your journal entry because it is already included in the header.
This made the skin more user friendly, since once the header and footer are set up, when making a new journal, you only need to place your content as usual, with no additional codes.

I think you've updated from version 2.1 to this new one. If so, feel free to get rid of those content div tags inside your entry. They are no longer necessary^^

Hope the additional HTML is useful too.
Have fun and thanks for the feedback!

Starke-Haz In reply to foxybcosplay [2009-11-10 20:05:47 +0000 UTC]

Okey! Just put it in your regular text area before your current text and things will do until I upload a newer version.
Thx for your feedback!

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Starke-Haz In reply to foxybcosplay [2009-11-10 17:06:27 +0000 UTC]

Wow, I think I didn't consider the case where someone would like to entry the text directly without a section title. That darker spot was usually occupied by the headling which is darker.
I already have some suggestions to implement for the 2.2 version and I'll sure add yours. But this will probably be updated only later night or tomorrow. For now, you could:
1) Add a heading just to prevent your text from mixing with the stains:
< p>YOUR HEADING
2) Put your hole text in bold:
YOUR TEXT
