Description
Beware. If you have a low resolution or a slow computer then this'll probably kill you. Sorry. T____TOkay, I did it! I did a tutorial. It's really long because I tried to make it clear [/failed]. If the terms I use confuse you then google or find out or just have a gool old poke about open canvas. I'm too lazy to look but this tutorial would probably work for photoshop/psp too. I'm sure they have multiply layers.
Just try out different layer types to see. Standard would be the same as raster.
If you find this crap don't tell me because I know. xD
This is the third try at doing this. The first was when I was also making this curry stew for dinner *doesn't normally cook* (thankfully the oriental store had everything I needed except meat) and I made the tutorial half-assedly because my mind was elsewhere. The second my Mum bought these weird cakey thingies from a German market and they made so hyper that not only couldn't I draw I couldn't form an english sentance either. xD I swear to god those cakes were drugged. Thankfully I was sugar sober and wasn't cooking when it came the the third try.
The colour layer example is just for show to see what a colour layer would do.
The example is my new found OC Chuntao, lazily drawn in 10 minutes and changed around a lot (don't hit me >o<

It's better to use a paler colour instead of just straight out red (also depending on skin tones a more orangey colour compliments the face! ^u^ but also if you just preffer using dark colour then turn down the opacity/density on the brush :3

I have 3 questions. (because I'm a total n00b when it comes to computer art. @_@) Sorry if these questions were asked already...
1. How do you make your lines brown? What types of pens do you use, I mean.
2. How do you manipulate oC into making darker skin tones?
3.Where can I get oC?
btw, I love your art!

1. you can make lines brown by inserting a color layer above them and fiddling in photoshop, it's not the pen. I use Shachihata artline pens tho (which are black)
2. just make your base colour darker (if that makes any sense at all )
3. [link]

Awesome tutorial...man when I get Open Canvas this is going to be very useful. Just wondering, does this have the same outcome for photoshop? XD You drew that chracter in 10 minutes!??! Wow...amazing.. okay I should shut up <___<; Anyway, thanks for teaching it to us, and your tutorial is very pretty X]

It should do since it's pretty straight forward. the only difference I could come up with is that photoshop would be a bit rougher. :3
Thankyou!!!
